article from my morning feed

I " THINK " most states have the law against hunter harassment. I'll bet some places it gets well used too .

I am not sure about laws against hunter harassment in NYS, but I am fairly confident that there are laws against trapper harassment. I believe is illegal to mess with properly tagged traps. When I was a kid, my uncle told a story where he found that someone had pulled all of his traps in a trap line. There was fresh snow on the ground, and my uncle literally tracked the culprit right to her home. My uncle found his traps in a pile the woman's front door. She became very apologetic when he explained to her that she could be arrested.

PA has a law making it illegal to mess with another persons cameras , and traps .

I don't know what it is about traps , but they can't be left alone . I trapped while I was in school , the mid 1970's . my traps got messed with then .I started to trap again a few years ago , while I was in a lease . the guys I was in the lease with couldn't, or wouldn't , let them alone . this year I trapped two different state game lands . the first game lands no problem , and one archery hunter knew I had traps in there . He would talk with me about every morning . the second game lands I had traps stolen .

Some people are idiots, when I had a deer lease back in the days, there was this lease just an hour away, loaded with nilgai, deer and hogs, the owner had a son who was an obnoxious little prick who was collecting extra money driving one day hunters around in his truck on hunting roads during deer season, even when legit lease hunters are in the blinds. He drove down my road, right past my truck which was parked further up the road where he turned in. When they came close, I waved a white towel out the window alerting them that I'm hunting in the box blind, they just proceeded to drive down, when they got close to my box blind, i opened the blind door and let off a few censored words, and the owner's son said, just passing through. I was like, yeah right, with the hunters in the back with rifles up and ready to use. Told him to stop his crap, or I will talk to his dad. Two weeks later, he did the same thing. Found out his dad passed away weeks earlier, and he was in litigation with his mom, claiming all that property was his, but the proceeds was left for her. Court handed down an order that all hunters needs to clear all belongings from that deer lease when deer season ended. It was a court order to lock down a deer lease during an heir transition is a measure to secure and preserve the property / estate assets while the legal process determines the rightful new owner. We had moved to a new lease 2 hours away. I wasn't going to go back to that place again anyway. Even found empty boxes of moth balls in certain places at the deer lease, seems someone has been tossing moth balls in certain places to keep game away from those areas, so game can move to favorable areas to hunt. That is sad. I was at my new lease for 14 years until the owner sold that place. Nowadays I just look up my hunting guides for one day hunts for nilgai, deer or exotics. One day hunts aren't as exciting as having a deer lease for the whole season.
