Pistol Rest?

I’ve got several Thompson Contenders and am curious what rest folks might be using with them? Is a rest preferred over a bi-pod?

My Savage Striker is shot with bipod and rear bag.

Do you mean in hunting situations or at the range?

If shooting off a bench I use bags and when hunting I use a long bipod from a sitting position. I also use a rifle scope on lighter recoiling centerfire cartridges.

With a TC, I would prefer using a front rest with a front bag that properly fits the forend, and a rear bag under the grip.
