Glock 21 Gen 4 ( 45 Super )

how would you compare +p 45 to 45super? complete comparisons like recoil, accuracy, function and so on? seems to be a go between on +p acp and 460r on pressures.

45 Super +P Recoil is about the same as my G20 with 220 at 1200 FPS . Don’t use 45 + P in Alaska for trail use 45 Super + P handloads in G21 setup for 45 Super.
Only use for bear protection and occasionally to finish moose off if needed.
4.6” KKM and 22 pound spring and Plus 4 Magazine springs in G21 Gen 4 with Leupold DPP
Would not waste my money on 460 Rowland
700 FPE is enough in 10mm or 45 Super for bear protection

9.0 of Longshot or Power Pistol
250gr XTP
WW plain 45 ACP brass
Fed 150 primers
Excellent Deer / Hog load
KKM barrel / 22/24 pound spring
G21

Have you chronoed that load? I wonder how that bullet does at lower velocity. I've shot deer with that bullet close to 1600 fps in my 454 and it holds together very well.

I have used that bullet in Muzzle Loader the 250gr XTP and it did fabulous on deer and black bear.
In my modified G21 with 4.6” KKm for 45 Super the Longshot at 9.0 provided the best velocity 1128 fps but my 9.8 of LS I consider max in non comp KKM barrel is my best ;

  • 250gr XTP, 9.8gr Longshot @ 1.220":1,207 FPS - AVG - 13.97 ES - 9.89 SD - Most Excellent
  • Great Bullet for Medium Game but not recommended for Grizzly Bear Protection
  • 9.0 of Power Pistol will give you just over 1100gps in 4.6 KKM
  • In Gel expect about 22” of penetration with good bullet weight retention 250 XTP
  • Suggest WW plain 45 ACP Brass (Not +P) or Starline 45 Super brass
  • Fed 150 primers
  • I prefer my loads in the 700 FPE area that’s all needed for Grizzly Bear Protection with 200gr Lehigh Pent or 250gr Campro FN here in Alaska.
