Glock 21 Gen 4 ( 45 Super Lite)

how would you compare +p 45 to 45super? complete comparisons like recoil, accuracy, function and so on? seems to be a go between on +p acp and 460r on pressures.

45 Super Lite Recoil is about the same as my G20 with 220 at 1200 FPS . i use the area between 45 Super and 45 ACP +P for Alaska trail use 45 S in G21 Gen 4 .
Only use for bear protection and occasionally to finish moose off if needed.
4.6” KKM Barrel and OEM Stock 2 stage recoil spring
8.0 of LS with 250gr Hardcast RNFP. 1125 fps
Would not waste my money on 460 Rowland.
I am a big fan of Glock 20/21 in 10mm or 45 Super Lite for bear protection
Rim Rock Top Shelf .451 250gr RNFP Bullet

Have you chronoed that load? I wonder how that bullet does at lower velocity. I've shot deer with that bullet close to 1600 fps in my 454 and it holds together very well.

I have used that bullet in Muzzle Loader the 250gr XTP and it did fabulous on deer and black bear.
In my modified G21 with 4.6” KKm for 45 Super the Longshot at 9.0 provided the best velocity 1128 fps but my 9.8 of LS I consider max in non comp KKM barrel is my best ;

  • 250gr XTP, 9.8gr Longshot @ 1.220":1,207 FPS - AVG - 13.97 ES - 9.89 SD - Most Excellent
  • Great Bullet for Medium Game but not recommended for Grizzly Bear Protection
  • 9.0 of Power Pistol will give you just over 1100gps in 4.6 KKM
  • In Gel expect about 22” of penetration with good bullet weight retention 250 XTP
  • Suggest WW plain 45 ACP Brass (Not +P) or Starline 45 Super brass
  • Fed 150 primers
  • I prefer my loads in the 700 FPE area that’s all needed for Grizzly Bear Protection in 10mm 200/220 Hardcast .
  • 45 Super Lite with 8.0 of Long Shot with 250gr RNFP Hardcast 22 BHN is my preferred load . Gives great accuracy faster recovery and good penetration for close range Grizzly Bear in Glock 21 Gen 4 1025 FPS and use KKM 4.6” Barrel.
  • Rim Rock Top Shelf .451 in 250gr RNFP @ 1.190” in KKM barrel for Alaska Heavy Game defense.

Only 100 fps difference with 250/255gr
975fps and 1075 fps . Both will do what I need to do for Bear Protection.
Recoil in Glock 21 similar to Glock 20 with 220gr Hardcast at 1200 fps.
Very Manageable!
I even worked up a handload that falls between 45 ACP+P and 45 Super at 1025 fps that I really like ……..8.0 of Longshot .
My 45 Super Lite load !

250 gr XTP great weight retention that bullet would be my No 1 choice for medium game from black bear to Elk . Great penetration especially at 45 ACP + P to 45 Super + P for a jacketed bullet. Highly recommend for deer !
The one bullet that Hornady got right the XTP.

Yes used this same bullet in my muzzleloader for years killed a ton of deer with it the 250 XTP.
