So I forgot a very important rule

I have a similar problem. My wife says ok but I want a new one too! 😳
She’s been eyeing the Weatherby Capra in 25 Wby RPM. And of course she’s sold on the Leupold VX-5HD 3-15x44mm FireDot duplex.
I created a monster.

She is a good monster.

Yeah. Now we need a range report. :)
Well, I'm happy to report that i got to the range, and wow does it shoot great! It is so smooth. I brought along my EMPs and Dan Wesson Kodak, you can definitely feel the progression in quality between them. I am sure i would have been happy with another Dan W but definitely no regrets with the Nighthawk.
The feel and balance makes it seem much lighter than it is, especially for all steel and at 38.2oz. They feel about the same weight, But you can sure tell the difference in recoil from the lighter EMP with the extra 7+oz
I will say that i was a little disappointed that it didn't automatically make me shoot the tight groups that Guy has been posting with his 1911s hahah:giggle:

Once you nail down which load it prefers, and you get used to it, the accuracy will come around!

Patrick, I am glad that it shoots so smoothly for you. As Blkram stated above, you will get the accuracy as you figure out what loads it likes.

Glad you got to take the Nighthawk out for a range session. Seems to be a smooth shooter.

Great news that you like the feel of it. In no time you’ll be rolling some good loads for it.

I once overheard my late wife talking with a neighbor who was decidedly anti-gun and hunting. She said that I got up and and went to work every day. He doesn't come home drunk or chase the floozzies. If buying a new every once in a while is what makes him happy? tThen I'm happy. Besides, get to out together and do some shooting and we have fun.

First sentence made me start laughing.

I don't test drive new Corvettes or BMWs for a very good reason. As far as firearms go, I am much more in the offloading mode than acquisition these days so I'm not too stimulated when my nephew puts one of his high-dollar pistols in my mits. The number of long guns in the safe will only continue to diminish, while I might snag one or two more bucket list handguns to play with for a while...then the handgun population is going to shrink as well.

Still, I am not so old that I have forgotten what it's like to lust after a handgun you always thought you had to have!
