    257 WM

Yeah pop, she's really flat with all three loads that I listed. I had the gs customs to 3750fps, but it was too hard on cases. I had to bring it down to a nominal level. Imr 7828 has a sharp pressure spike when you get near max.I do have a 26" tube on an accumark and she does not heat up as bad...

    257 WM

Remmy, my best accuracy came early in my load development with the 110 nab and imr7828. This powder also gave me the best overall results with 100 grain bullets also. I shot 71.0 grains 7828 with the 110nab for a 3490 av velocity and very accurate. 73.2 grains of 7828 with the 100 tsx also gave...

    range report

matt, it will raise your pressure slightly but start at the lands first then move in from there. I backed down .3 grains for summer temps but you're at 100 now. You should be allright with the loads at the lands or in .005". This usually will give you a more efficient powder burn too. Groups are...

    range report

Great shooting matts318, she is a real shooter. While you're playing with col, try seating the bullets into the lands .005 to .020 or so. I'm shooting bergers right now seated .015" into the lands and they shoot terriffic. Also, varget seems to also be a great 308 powder. You're there right now...

POP - .257 WBY Load Question

Your so right Jerry. Oal is really tricky sometimes with the wby mag and they do typically like plenty jump to the lands and I believe that is by design. You would be compressed with the slow powders(retumbo) that you are using, but I'm mostly using Imr 7828 and I still have room in the case...

    .44 mag Marlin?

That is one heck of a little rifle Guy that I'm sure that you'll enjoy. I've shot one and they're very accurate, quick handling and fun to shoot. Not to mention that they pack a wallap. Ammo is also easy to come by. That little rifle and a good quality 265 grain bullet will bring down most game...

POP - .257 WBY Load Question

Good shooting TB. You're so right, some rifles can be a trick to get to shoot. My 257 would foul real bad until I got a couple hundred shots through it. I does fine now and is really accurate on a clean barrel. Have you tried IMR 7828? This powder really is the ticket in a 257 wby.

POP - .257 WBY Load Question

TB, turns out that I never tested the 110 nab's with rl25 due to the slow speeds that it gave with the tsx's. I was loading 75.0 RL-25 at 3.125"col and only getting 3353 av velocity, but groups were good. Well under an inch. For comparison, I'm driving the tsx at 3680 average velocity with 73.2...

POP - .257 WBY Load Question

TB, when I get home I'll get you some data that I have. I found RL25 really accurate but a tad slow. My best results were with imr7828.

    Handgun reloading

hardpan, I do load for a 40 s&w. I have a 4" service model springfield and I have very good results with Bluedot. I'm loading 7.5 grains bluedot with a 180 grain bullet and getting 980 fps with great accuracy. I've loaded bluedot with the 9mm and decided to try it with the 40. It works and is...
