I tried this with mixed results.
With new brass being fired for the first time groups were really good same load 2nd load there was a difference.
I believe that the case capacity increases after fireforming that first round as I think the 7mm has a little bit of taper and the 257 wby.
Keep...
I would still try the 17 it groups the 110s just as good and the poi at 100 yds is only 1" low have yet to chrono that but 3500 with the 100s is acheivable
no disrespect Jim but I doubt you saw 110 gmx they were probably interbonds
Anyway if they actually did produce some 110s and release them they most certainly would have changed the mfg number
I believe that hornady released the original planned 110 and the number and then in turn changed to...
yeah the original plan was supposed to be a 110 but he said it just didnt work out. I assume that meant it was too long to stabilize in standard barrels but the 90 has a descent bc and if it can be pushed harder than the etip they may have something that could be a good crossover bullet
I have the same rifle and it Likes 99 grs of retumbo with 180 gr BT I think I will work on the 200 gr AB come spring time but I can darn near get 3 in a quarter with the 180s so I will prolly leave it I usually get one flier and 2 touchin
http://www.hornady.com/store/25-Cal-.257-90-gr-GMX/
same mfg # ???
I remeber seeing this switch on hornadys site over the summer as I awaited the release of the 110s
I bet they had a hard time getting the 110s to stabilize in std twist rifles
I still dont understand why the need for a bonded bullet in a predator hunting situation especially for saving pelts? Most hunting for fur dont want an exit hole right? Well the bonded bullet is more prone to giving an exit hole and its not just the bullet that exits its what ever it hits on...
ok has anyone verified what the new 257 gmx weight will be?
Grafs and Midway list it as 110 hornady lists the same part # as 90 I would assume 90 but ?????????
Hey pop try some RL17 in that 25 .06 it will shine and would probably work well in the 6 too
POP
That is in my 25.06 max load of RL 17 and 100 gr BT bumping 3500 others have said they did it with retumbo but the accuracy I get from 17 is simply amazing and with the 26" pipe on that rifle you are gunna sell me you should get 3500 easy
well according to him he tried all kinds of recipes and was ready to wrap it around a tree.
he is so particular about this load he wont substitute anything even the primer and he usually is not that critical about his components. Yes I know primers can make a difference but not always a really...
are these bullets equal to anything marketed here?
Are they the same as the old solid base 55s? Reason I ask is my uncles swift only likes that old discontinued solidbase and his supply is running low
If its the one I am thinking of its a uncataloged rifle they are doing a few more cdlsf that are not listed is all the 223 also comes to mind.
Dont order that trigger til you try this one as it is the externally adjustable type at least it should be
Well I got a 700 classic and it loves 100 gr bts pushed by a stiff charge of RL17 I can bump 3500 fps which means you are not gettin any flatter using 85s
Oh and groups are darn near dime size!
