orion, heck yes! If you have fired them 4 times and only neck sizing depending on load how hot it may be time to FL size them for sure! Set it up per directions on dies so you have minimal head space and then you will get less loading as the brass ages before you have to FL again, at .34 ea if I...
I haven't hasd much problems with winchester brass, you get what you pay for and you can't expect 18.00 per 50 brass to come ready to load or close!
I only neck size new brass and fire form it, then when it get's sticky in the chamber I them FL size them.
Oops didn't see your above post yes I'm going to buy a lb and give it a try, as IMR shows you can go to 40 grains with this powder, and I'm liking the idea of 38.5 to 39 I never like to get to max as I shoot in the summer alot raising pressure and the such.
Thanks I'll let you know how it...
pop how about a load work up with IMR 4007 SSC with 80 bal tip and OAL 2.630.
I have plenty of IMR 4350 as it is my best powder for the 25-06 and 110 accubonds. What kind of vel and groups do you get with this powder with a 80 grain bullet? Also are oyu at the upper end of pressure with this...
I'm going to work up a remington sps varmint in .243 witha twist of 9 1/8 I'm looking at 80 grain BT"s who has some good accurate loads for this bullet? These guns have a 26" barrel. Has anyone used the new IMR 4007 SSC powder it claims to be good vel for this caliber? Thanks alot.
who needs a blood trail when they drop likes rocks with those 110 accubonds? . If your getting massive internal injury they won't go far, but if your hunting heavy brush then go with a 100/115 BT, the problem is heavy bone and you going to get some bullet splash and lack some penetration...
I'm with warden and pop mt favorite is the 110 accu bond talk about hitting with some punch! I shot a large WT buck at 455 yards and he dropped stone dead very impressive and IU also use them for coyotes as they stay together well and you have a liveable hole to boot!
1 bullet and 1 sight in...
The bal tips have different thickness of jacket, the varmint ones are thinner than those meant for thin skinned big game, they are a bit thicker.
The accu bonds are a bonded core bullet and will do better in big game as they won't seperate as easy and you can use them for deer, elk, bear etc...
110 gr accu bonds for everything now! I shot a large male yote durring deer season at 125 yrds and it did quite well, I think it acts more like a FMJ with thin skin coyotes, knocked him real dead and liveable exit hole.
I can load one bullet and have good accuracy and clean kills. I shot my 4x4...
mr 3100 as listed as such, shows up in the powder burn rate chart. Out side of that I don't know I believe it to be an accurate powder? It is listed as such in the powder burn rate chart as MR 3100 by accurate.
I have a friend who gave me a few pounds of MR 3100 powder, looks good and smell's good. He said if it works out he has a 6lbs more I could have, as his grandfather stock piled on powder and bullets.
Any load suggestions for this with 115 gr bal tips or 110 gr accubonds? Thanks.
Surgeon actions are as good as they get! I don't own oen but knowing others that do and the mill work they do it is a good action. Action cost about 1800.00 a full gun 4,000. They will shoot and shoot well. All things are measured to your needs. I would like to own one some day.
The other...
I just want 1 bullet mainly for coyotes and my yearly antelope and deer hunts and a mountain lion or 2 and if I get an elk tag I will go to 115 partitions and limit shots to the 100 yrd mark. Holes mean nothing on the coyotes as I don't need to worry about fur just dead coyotes, my 22-250 is...
I have shot both rl-22 and IMR 4350 .The rl-22 at 52.5 gr gives me 2970 fps and a group under 1" and IMR 4350 at 48 grains gives me a group at 3/4" at very close FPS. shooting 115 gr Nosler Bal Tips.
Do I go with less pressure with the rl-22 and more powder or less powder and slightly higher...
coyote hunting in Tenn will find different than out west in wide open sage country for sure. A 3" dead coyote or steel BB's through a tight choke will knock um dead for sure, longer in your area .223 would be a good bet you can get ammo cheap and will kill coyotes for you nicely, recoil is very...
With CT bullets I bet it isn't copper fouling in 9 shots? Do you have a synthetic stock? Some are more prone to exspansion than others, those with a bedding block are much better than those without.
Savages lower end synthetcis are so flimsy that you can flex them with the action removed.
