    First tries with Annealeez

Fighting a cold here so decided to head to the shop and try out the Annealeez for some low impact exercise. I’ve acquired quite a bit of 223 brass and wanted to try to anneal them before turning them into 6mm, 6.5mm and 7mm TCU ammo. Machine worked well. The Gen 3 model has a muffler clamp for...

One good thing about the component shortage.

Closest public range is 10+ miles from home. I do have air gun, pistol and rifle ranges on our property but limited to 100 yards so far.

    Reloading the 9mm

Recently made a purchase of 9mm bullets for a good price. Being somewhat of a reloading geek I have a good supply of materials that were purchased at pre shortage prices. Figured out my cost per round to load 9mm with these materials. Bullet .025 Primer .027 Powder .011 4.2 grains Tightgroup at...

    "Don't Hunt Bear!"

You are more tolerant than I am. My woke sister in law was visiting one day. We were sitting in the back yard when the neighbor (out of sight from us) decided to do some target shooting in his yard. The sister in law freaked out and wanted me to put a stop to it. She said she didn’t feel...

    This might work out well.

A while back I was contacted by a local fellow who does estate sales for people and he was requesting information on reloading supplies and equipment. I ended up purchasing a bunch of equipment from him for what I thought was a very good price. A couple weeks ago he sent me some pictures of some...

    Coyote down

The ones I got earlier this year were in pretty rough shape compared to this one. I thought it looked pretty good also. No call on this night. He was making a habit of showing up around 9:30 so it was just sit and wait. Last night I tried the call without any luck. Strange thing when I went to...

    Elk from the coyote blind

Only 120 yards at the farthest. Some got within 40 and never noticed the IR light. One finally heard me in the blind. They started out up on the ridge and worked there way down to the food plot out of sight. From the blind with a cheap set of night vision goggles I could pick up the glow of the...

    Coyote down

Finally caught up with this one. The 90 grain Accubond worked well.

    Elk from the coyote blind

Finally had a chance to get some video with the Sightmark Wraith 4K Max. No shooting, just looking.

    Salmon on the Beach

We are only about 20 miles from the mouth of the Columbia River so the fish are fresh out of the ocean just starting their journey up river. They often still have sea lice on them.

    Fish Pics

Always nice to catch a few salmon but the steelheads are fun too.

    Homestead Herd

Been a while since the elk have come on the homestead. Was glad to see several new additions to the family. The calves certainly are varied in size at this stage.

    Salmon on the Beach

Columbia River salmon fishing. Barbless hooks so playing them out before bringing them into the beach.

First Ever Bear (Contains Some Graphic Content)

Well written and interesting account of the hunt. Plenty of adventure on that trip for sure.

    Coyote Showdown

Played peek a boo with this one for quite a while before it finally gave me a shot. Tried an electric caller right at dark. Had one come out on my other trail but wouldn’t come in close enough to see from the blind. This one came in three different times. It was suspicious but wouldn’t show...

    Feasting Fowls

More game camera footage of the cleanup crew. I had 40 pounds of salmon and steelhead heads, tails and guts that were left after canning this seasons catch. Was actually more action when they were all jockeying for a piece of the coyote carcass than when they were all contentedly munching on fish.

    Clean up Crew

Other than the squabble, the vultures seem to be passive. The whole bunch will stand and watch as one eats.
