Columbia River salmon fishing.
Barbless hooks so playing them out before bringing them into the beach.

Very neat. It sure brings back memories for me of fishing Old Orchard Beach in Port Moody, or the Burrard Inlet, or the Fraser River. I brought my share of Coho and Pinks home for a meal after a pleasant afternoon on the water. Looks to have been a nice, bright fish. Good job!

Nice bright King! Seen 100s of rods busted by folks trying to beach kings. Watch it again, he waited until the fish was on his side, lifted the nose up and then slid him, didn't lift him. Excellent work!

Excellent! Very nicely done, and a beautiful, bright fish too.

Yes, I broke a nice fly rod once when I got a little too aggressive bringing a silver salmon to the beach. But, replaced that rod with a better one.

Never broke a rod, but learned to be patient.
Not just with fishing.
Sometimes the game stand better 10 minutes after I thought about shooting...

We are only about 20 miles from the mouth of the Columbia River so the fish are fresh out of the ocean just starting their journey up river. They often still have sea lice on them.
