Yeh, it was 2 longer screws and 2 shorter screws. I've never seen that before...but I was in too much of a hurry to get em on and didn't pay proper attention. :roll: . What a knob.....

Thanks a lot for the input guys. I got back from going out to eat and checked the rear screw of the front base.....ding, ding, ding that was it. Loosened it up and the bolt came back nice as could be. With the bolt pulled back I tightened down the screw again and the bolt works just fine...
Well I picked up my Rem 700 SPS Tactical this afternoon. Got a leupy base and rings. Got back to my son's place and after dry firing the trigger several times adjusted the mark 4 trigger as per instructions. Put the base and rings on and then when I went to check the trigger pull again...
I was hoping for under 400.00. Right now I was thinking about taking my Kahles 3x9 TDS to put on it and later buying another conquest for my 280. Then I would have Conquests on my 7m-08, 308 and 280.
But of course I would like a higher magnification scope for the 223....so the Kahles will...
I just bought a Rem 700 SPS Tactical in 223. I wanted a varmint rifle that didn't weigh 20#, had a shorter barrel and was relatively cheap. At a bit over $600.00 this seemed to fit the bill.
Anyway even though I am a Kahles and Conquest kinda guy, I don't want to spend 500.00+ on a scope at...
Sounds like a great hunt. Too bad Nosler doesn't make broadheads eh? Having to "patrol" property would just ruin hunting for me...its too bad people have to be such slugs....no pun intended.

I got my dad's pre-64 Marlin 30-30 out a couple of weekends ago and put some brass down the tube. I have not shot it for probably 25 years. It shot great but the trigger was H E A V Y compared to my 2.5# Sako triggers.
I told my BIL that I must have shot it 3 times for every time the bullet...
Sounds like a 7m-08 would fit her just fine. Maybe in a Rem model 7. It must bring you great joy to see her maturing in the hunting regard. Seems most go the other direction. Good on her and you.
