I made a skippy's annealer and have done mainly .308's .300 blkout and .223's of various head stamps. Each brand takes a different amount of flame time. Each case behaves in their own way too. Some change color, others don't change at all.
My advice is get 750 and 450 templaq and test each...
I'd like for the companies to start offering better fitted sizes... 6'3, long legs and arms does not mean I'm also 300 pounds. I tried a sweater from cabelas last year that was two inches short of my pant line. No one wants to see that!
Stop the wind, stop the cold. I use merino wool under...
The two I've loaded, has been limited to mag length.
142 gr, 6.5 (creedmoor) is .050 off the lands
129gr 6.5 (.260 rem) is .1 if I load to mag length of 2.820, or .060 if I load to 2.860. Both were accurate with a few tenths of powder difference in the loads.
The .308 will be getting a little off the top at the end of the month. [emoji3]
Continuation from above-It's amazing how close QL is with this .308. I was looking for a load that I could use with the 26" and by adjusting seating depth, use when the barrel gets shortened. Chrono'd a mid...
I go with 750/400.
I made me one of them skippy's case annealers. The instructions are on the 68forums, though they leave a lot to be desired. I outlined the process with tips on the 65creedmoor forum.

Using 750/400 templaq, large...
That's pretty neat. The friend we hunt elk with had a picture of a unicorn he removed from the gene pool one or two years ago.
did the vortex mounts shake at all or was it solid? My phoneskope eyepiece mount gives a little so the pics can be blurry.
I got a hapurs Bluetooth shutter remote...
My 9mm does it too, if it's on the outside of the case. It's powder burning the next round as the case is ejected. My g9 carbine soots them up pretty black. It tumbles off and the brass is ok.
I do believe LRS factors and influences are multifaceted. Like Jim stated, practice and ability I think trump a lot of other factors that may make us attempt longer shots.
One of those factors is seeing LR hunting being driven by the industry trying to cater to the newer impatient...
Skimming through this venture, noticed you asked about the bolt not holding open- sounds like you were over gassed with that load. Heavier buffer, stronger spring or go for it all and get a silent capture spring from jp enterprise. Even if it's cycling with the 25.3g load, I'd recommend it...
The huskemaw has a lock ring that you set when you get your zero. It lets you dial down a little, but not a full revolution. I was considering getting the first free custom turret they offer, but if you change your load, it'll be another $75 or so to get another turret. Of course $0 if you...
Finally had a break in the weather so I took the .308 out to play and get the burn rate... Happy with its first shots and will be able to have a load that I can shoot with the full 26" and still shoot when it gets back from getting a little (4") off the top.
Maybe 2 1/4" at 200 yards for...
Just an estimate based on my COAL and case capacity. Merry Christmas.
Cartridge : .25-06 Rem

Useable Case Capaci: 60.903 grain H2O = 3.954 cm³
Cartridge O.A.L. L6: 3.200 inch = 81.28 mm
Barrel Length : 24.0 inch = 609.6 mm...
It's "tactical" to have detachable magazines. It's also more $$ for the brand company as each can cost just under 100 clams. Then it runs you $60 to $300 to get the bottom metal and magazines to convert. Gotta be tactical no matter the cost!
I use one of these digital angle gauges made for wood working blade angles and various "L" shaped metal brackets inserted along the bolt slides or flat spots on the action and "zero the gauge. Then I put it on the scope's turret (mine are flat) and go either way till it says "0" again. It's...
