I haven't been to the Hogdon site in awhile. I agree if you can only pull up one powder and bullet at a time and no ability to compare, they did screw the pooch! Too bad, things are hard enough these days.
Didn't shoot any varmageden bullets in the .22-250 but lots of ballistic tips with Varget. I don't see why it wouldn't work with the bullets you mentioned.
Your rifle may be able to be fixed by a good gunsmith. It will cost some money but might be worth you keeping the rifle and using it. I'm thinking of getting a digital scale myself so I can read the numbers easier. Good luck with whatever you decide!
I'd be really tempted to use them anyway. I've also had them on a .338 WM. I bought a set of reverse mounts and rings recently and I see no difference between the old ones and new ones. Keep the screws tight and should be good to go in my opinion.
