Well when I was finished with this little experiment I tried a couple and cant close the bolt on the 260 the OAL on the brass is fine the problem is at the rim I think ? It was cheap PMC 308 brass that I ran threw the M1A1 so no loss but I have had no problems with going the other way with 243...
I shoot 180 AB's and get great results at about 2930 fps. I shoot a Remington 700 bdl stainless 1995 model 24" barrel. 180g NAB with 75g H4831sc backit off about 3 grains and work up, I get 3/4 in groups and 74 was no change just 60 fps more at 75g.
I have not measured the concentricity, I went to the range today and am getting 8 in groups at 500 so cant complain but I am going to keep working on it.

Well I am .039 off the lands, and I am getting 3010 ave. The Nosler volume 6 says for IMR 4350 43.5 to 47.5 max with 43.5 being best but it was really no better? I was hoping to get the partitions shooting for my daughters deer and elk season. Powders on hand H4895, RL15, RL19, Rl22, H4831sc...
Ok guys here is a 100g npt and a 100g A-Max they were both sitting on nosler brass and 44g of IMR 4350. The npt while shooting fair to poorly, vs the A-max which will shoot the lights out. So what do you think more or less powder seat it deeper or shallower I am a little baffled npt's usually...
I know the speed is good and well under book max for powder. If I go up even 1/2 g on powder the velocities get a little jumpy. so that seems to be the sweet spot. I am getting between 3060 to 3080 so it is really consistent with most 3070 to 3077. I was just trying to tighten it up a little, I...
Hay guys I hate to rehash this post but as we are all trying to make improvement's. I started tinkering with my 338 rum and discovered that I am .256 off the lands with a Nosler 250g AB. Well what I am getting at is this seem way off the lands I was thinking that with a the AB, I would have been...
Well I am on the road in Japan right now so I cant go into the garage right now and look but I think they are Remington 7 1/2 primers and the brass is mixed from black hills reloads and Remington. I don't know the COL off the top of my head but the gun is not particular is shoots factory...
My velocities have fallen off a bit with 4831sc in the last few years, 3095 in the 300wm with 75 gr to about 2930 and really cant stoke it much more but still shooting great groups.

I just came into a Ruger Single Six cylinder 22 cal, it is blue, and brand new in the box. I am guessing it is 15 or more years old. Does anyone know what it might be worth? If anything.

I have had the same problem, I bought some Nosler brass and it is ok. I found one lot of 2000 but it was a bit too pricy for me. There is some at times on gun broker but it is expensive as well. It seems like a dying round. I like mine though.

I shoot a muley or two every year and have used a lot of different calibers. I prefer my 270 win. I have used every thing from 100 gr. bronze points to 130 gr npt. I haven't found them to be bullet proof at all. If you make a decent shot they go down. I have gone threw a few stages on bullet...
338 rum is a big hammer. I have only shot two animals with mine, an Alaskan Bull Moose and a Rocky Mountain Bull Elk. The moose was at 98 yards on the range finder and the elk was 364 yards I think. Same result one shot and dead critter. I have had the same results with my 300 and 270 on other...
