    Pick a Savage

I bought the model 111 long range hunter in the 338 lapua. Best rifle I have ever bought. Here is the results when breaking the barrel in. http://www.noslerreloading.com/phpBB2/viewtopic.php?f=4&t=17507

    Pick a Savage

I just bought the model 111 LRH. Savage are great rifles! Go with the 6.5-284, great for long ranges as well.

    Berger VLD bullets

I have shot a few deer, one at 620 yards and this year one at 120 yards. They held up great! Hardly any meat loss.

    338 lapua surprise!

That they did! I am really surprised at how well it shoots with only 6 rounds going down that tube. I can't wait until I get back in town and get to try it out to at least 500 yards. After I get the reloading stuff I will be posting pictures of targets shot at 1000 yards. I am going to give the...

    7mm wsm quickload request

I have a winchester 7mm wsm as well. Give H4350 a try. It took my groups from 1 inch at 100 yards to under 1/2 moa at 100 yards. I have used this rifle for a couple 1000 yards shots with H4350 and 168 grain berger target vld bullets. Good luck, and welcome to the forum!

    338 lapua surprise!

Scotty, I am extremely impressed with this rifle. I would rather shoot this 338 lapua instead of my 7mm wsm because the recoil of the 338 is around a 243 win with 55 grain NBT. The recoil of the rifle is more of a shove that a sharp kick. I will be putting the bullet data into my exbal today and...

    338 lapua surprise!

I hope my handloads will do the same or better. because $90.00 for 20 shells will get pretty pricey.

    338 lapua surprise!

Well I finally made it out to the range to start the break in on the new savage model 111 LRH in the 338 lapua mag. I don't have the reloading stuff yet so I bought a box of 285 grain hornady match bullets to start the break in. I am warning Scotty right now not to look at the pictures below...

    338 lapua loads

I am also thinking about trying some of these bullets out for the long range target. http://www.gsgroup.co.za/338309SP142.html They are 309 grains with a BC of 1.216  But this rifle only has a 1:9 twist rate so they might not work, but they are worth a shot.

    338 lapua loads

It will be for both. Since I have used the 168 grain berger target vld on game with excellent results I am thinking the 300 grain berger hybrid should produce the same results but with a lot bigger bullet and at longer distances.

    338 lapua loads

Thanks Scotty, I am really eager to put some rounds down the tube and see how she will do. From all the reviews I have read about this rifle she should be a real shooter!

    338 lapua loads

Hey guy's finally got her home but it's not the 110 BA. I had to settle on the savage model 111 LRH in the 338 lapua due to the selection at the stores. I am thinking about putting some 300 smk's and some 300 grain berger hybrid bullets through her. Here is a few pictures if you haven't already...

Thanks guy's! I really can't wait to shoot her. 6mm, if you ever make it up this way let me know you can sure give her a shot

The new rifle of the house!

Hey guy's just wanted to share what I picked up last night. It wasn't the exact one I wanted but due to any of the stores around here not having one I thought this would fit the bill nicely. Savage model 111 Long Range Hunter in the 338 LAPUA MAG. It is now mounted with a vortex viper 6.5-20x50...

    338 lapua loads

Hey guy's I'm about to pick up a new savage model 110 BA in the 338 lapua here in the next few weeks. Just wondering what are some of your loads that you use in yours. I will also be putting a US Optics scope on this big pig as well for the long range work. Thank you

Who has experience with the Shooter app?

I can run our load through my exbal program if you would like. It is very accurate at long ranges.
