    reloading for coyotes

I used 70s last year and 55s this year. Both hammer yotes at any range, so far the 55s seem to be more fur friendly. Varget or RL15 are the best powders IMO

    Nosler 48 - Vanguard?

Upon further inspection of a Nosler 48, next to a Weatherby Vanguard, I found they are one in the same! I will admit the 48 is alot more refined, but I was kind of suprised that Nosler would use such a low priced action for their custom rifles, despite how effective the Vanguard...

    280 remington

I havent gotten to play with my new 280 much but I think I have found my varmint load already. 59 grains of H4350 behind a 120 grain Vmax does 3200 fps and groups under 1" for 5 shots.

Was happy with the 6mm 70gr. BT 'till now!!!

I whacked five yotes last winter with the 70 NBT in my 243 (3500 f/s). First shot was a 300y frontal which didnt exit (planted yote in tracks). Second was 275 yard head shot, it made a mess of her head. Third was 80 yard quartering shot that blew up on impact and exited too, big hole. Fourth...

I know what you're thinking I was out coyote hunting as I had given up hope of finding a big buck and season closes in a few days. Out comes this nice mulie and all I had was my 243 with 55 NBT @ 3815 fps. He turned broadside at 75 yards, and I let him have it

    6.5mm 125 grain Partitions

I'd be using them for hunting mule deer and whitetails in open farmland country where ranges can vary from 50 to 400 yards. I shot some today, 2890 f/s average velocity and groups ran from .6" to 1.2" for 3 shots at 100 yards. I think I'm good to go!

    260 Rem & Twist Rate

I had a 1-9 twist 260 that wouldnt stabilize 140 grain X bullets My current 260 has a 1:8 twist and it handles everything Id think a 1:10 twist would be best with 129 grain Interlocks and smaller

Four grand with the 243 Winchester

anybody done much loading with the 55 grain bullets in the 243 Winchester?? I've done a bit with the 58 grain Vmax, got up to 3800 fps in my 24" barrel Model 700 with Varget. Hornady lists their 58 gr factory load @ 3750 fps, which is pretty mild Id think. Federal and Winchester both load 55...
