I've just made an order through midway for a barrel scope and some other goodies and that was about $800 good thing I load for a buddy's 300 rum I don't have to buy dies and brass then I told my wife how much more money I needed for the gun smith. I guess women will never under stand
It should be a good fit for your 30 378. I have a SII big sky 6-24 target on my 6mm br the glass is great and tracks good with no problems I've have friends that have Sightrons with nothing but good things to say about them.
I use to think I needed something that shot flat until I got a 6mm br a 105 Berger going around 2850 and learned I can make hits out to 1100 yards  with some crankin on the nobs. But I'm going to have something built that's a lot flatter 8)
I'v been using nothing but Retumbo for the last few years in my 7mm rem mag 74 grs for the 150 bts accuracy is pretty good and 70 gr for the 162 amax seems to work the best but still use a little rl22.
I feel your pain I want to hunt Elk and not just general second season spike (that gets old) so I bought a bow set up a range behind my house and shoot almost everyday. Achery season starts august 27 and runs a month. I might not get a Elk but knowing I can shoot any size bull and hunt the rut...
I'd kind of like to have.
17 REM
22 250 AI
6X45
6mm Dasher
6mm AI
250 AI
35 Whelen
Do to the lack of funds most of these won't happen but its nice to dream
Well for deer I'm going to pack my 6mmbr with 105 berger hunting vlds until I get tired of packing it then I'll use my 7mm RM with 150 bts.
Elk my 7mm RM.
