So - my recommendation when some nice, shiny, sparkling new toy beckons? Slow down, think hard and figure out all the costs first!

That's it! I'm not buying any more new rifles!

In Kurt's case you have to budget a McSwirley and that wallet hurts even worse! They sure are pretty though.

With all those Remingtons you getting Kurt why not order them an accublock until you got 12 thumbholes and 12 sporters. They run like $300 instead of $500 and I think they look outstanding. Besides you have a wide variety of colors to choose from.

Well, first off, I really don't like thumbhole stocks. I have some pretty good sized mitts (comes with being 6'6" and pretty beefy), so they really don't fit me very well, and I've never really liked the looks of them.

I may have to take a peep if they offer any sporter styles, but the fact of the matter is, I'm getting pretty well caught up with replacing the plastic stocks on my Remingtons... I think I need a stock for my .300 SAUM, and maybe one for a .270 that's going to probably end up a .338-06... both are likely to end up the the lightweight EDGE tech stocks. My M70s are all walnut with one laminate and one Mickey. My Howa 7 WSM is in a McSwirley.

I don't think about the overall cost at all! I know, nutty huh. If I see a rifle I want and it is within my means, I get it. I don't have many issues with letting a rifle sit for a spell until I can scope it. I have a few knockaround scopes that I use on rifles for load work and such till I can afford to put better glass on them.
