Hi!
i just bought a Savage model 12 FLVSS in .223 rem. with 1:9 twist 26" barrel
i would like to find a very accurate load that i could use for varmint/coyote hunting and target shooting.
600 yard will be the maximum distance for target. and 300-400 for hunting.
i'd like if i could use jist one...
+1
that's the velocity and accuracy i get with mine and 150 sciroccos using 68 gr. imr7828.
i want to try the BT myself as they work awesome on deer in the 120 gr 6.5mm out my wife's 260 rem.
i shot a 200 lbs ( live weight ) bear a couple years ago with mine
loaded with a 300 gr .45 cal extreme elite bullet from PR bullets over 2 pills of T7
the bear made 30 yards
if your rifle is a remington, and you had a pressure point in your old stock's forehand, you might want to try rebuilting one.
i tried having my 700 lss free floating but it didn't like it.
POI shifted constantly. it could group 3 shot in 3/4" then the next 3 would also group 3/4" but 3" to the...
Wow! Lucky you.
I would really like if mine would get the hints i give all year long
Well... At least for my birthday this summer she gave me permission to buy myself a cabelas standhunter wool suit
very impressive b.c.
are they realistic? they're quite a bit above bergers.
i will surely try them in .284 150 gr for my 7WSM and in .308 210 gr for my RUM.
i use imr7828.
67 gr behind the 150 scirocco gives me 3100 fps
68.5 gr behind 140 gameking gives me 3200 fps
these are most accurate loads, i can add 75 fps to both loads
without pressure signs, but i get a bit less accuracy.
i also use CCI250 in mine.
by the way, RL17 is not recommended for the 7wsm because
it reaches max pressure with less than 88% of case capacity.
i was told it's not good.
and this powder does not come up in the list of powders from quickload,in your other post.
Our 2011 bucks
My wife with the buck she shot on a 2 men push ( actually 1 man, 1 woman  )
The buck was running strait at her and she shot it at 75 yard with her 260 rem.
We had trailcam pics of this buck we named the boxer.
And the buck i shot 2 days later, we jumped him in the...
Well i just showed him this Thread and he beamed at RR' s post
But he had to admit from all of the opinions, that it was more of an anomaly than the norm.
So i won
I've had great succes so far with the scirocco in my 7 wsm and 300 RUM
From my limited experience they do internal damage like crazy, and weight retention is impressive. This experience you are talking about seems to correlate with this.
13" penetration means really good expension happened quite...
Your experience is interesting RR cause it supports my opponents view. And so far your the only one who had the same case happens, and from your story, it happened more then once.
So you had complete penetration through, and limited internal damage?
thank's JD338 with this sentance you answered-2
when i say bullet construction is not a factor , i mean for the poll only.
i know that a tough bullet like a A-Frame is more likely not to expand than a ballistic tip.
but if this same A-Frame opens at 2800 fps, there's no reason it...
sorry if it was not clear. but bullet construction is not a factor here
it's apple to apple
same bullet and same target density.
take the most fragile bullet or the most resistant it doesn't matter.
can you push them fast enough they dont have time to expend thru a target that made them expand...
