Wow.. What a difference a powder load makes. Perfect group at the end. It takes a shooter to get those kind of groups as well.
I am very ineterested to see what your velocity is running with the H1000. Set your Chrony up when you go out. It is worth the time to setup each time till you...

About 1 day short of 6 weeks from the day it left my doorstep till the day it arrived. that was my only real gripe. Often scopes are for hunting. If one goes out a few weeks before hunting to sight-in their rifle and looses their scope for 6 weeks, here in Colorado our hunting is only...
Too Funny.
Nope my 338winmag has become one with me. Not even for a new one.
A little secret though. She is still a virgin, but I mean to change that this rifle season.
Got back from the range a "happy camper".
I could have saved myself a lot of previous range time and load test money if I would have just come out here and asked everyone about RL22 to begin with for the 300 Win Mag. Oh well. :(
The target below shows using RL22 in a 300 Win Mag...
"Your group suggests that you have plateaued.."
DRMike. Are you sure you weren't there. I had hit the plateua for all three powders. That is just incredible you can discern that from looking at a picture. Just incredible!
JD338 - man I think you are on to something. I...
Range day for the Weatherby Vanguard Series 2 7mm Rem Mag was excellent.
Using 160 gr NABs and IMR4831, I got consistent 5 shot groups. This is not a screamer load averaging only 2963 fps but each group was just too easy to shoot. (H4831sc would not give consistent accurate groups)
Scotty...
Scotty your words and recommendations are and always will be PLATINUM to me man! I am not just saying that to be nice. Every single thing you have recommended to me and taught me from my very beginning always turns out right and according to plan. Your years and years and years of...
If some remember, my new Minox Z5 4-20x50mm was sent in for repair. The scope would not correctly focus when using a higher magnification above 12-13x at the 100 yards or greater distance. The scope is back, field tested at the range and I am very happy to say, my scope has been correctly...
I concur with Scotty.
I have a 44 mag Redhawk with a 7.5 barrel. I no longer carry it with me in the field on account of that extra bit of weight but it is a great in-camp bear gun.
A nice short barrel 41 mag would be great in the field. :)
"Since a bullet flies in an arc,"
Just a thought. You are probably saying bullets fly flat as gravity pulls them down and we set our scopes so that the bullet will "loop" and hit targets at a specific ranges. ... or am I confused.wink:

Nice 300 RUM load Bill!! I take anything under an inch all day long. :) Man the more I look and hear about those 300 RUMs, the more I get to liking the idea of "maybe having one". :)
I started doing brass and bullet weight sorting for myself but I did not see any results for my type of...
I would sure appreciate some review experiences on these. I use regular ear plugs and ear muffs together at the range but I am looking for something when hunting and that is inexpensive but works. currently I have regualr ear plugs on a string that hang around my neck. Just before the shot I...
Wow. I just saw this. Mike you are not only a good shot but a great hunter. Nice game!!! we are still waiting here in Colorado and the fever is high. :)
Okay fellow reloaders. I got back from the range about 3 1/2 hours ago and had great results! I took most everyone's suggestions including different powders and also different primers including two test groups using magnum primers. I also included one other component test. I bought a box of...
Thanks all!
I am going to the range tomorrow and will try your suggestions.
I am getting great velocities and no pressure.
I have some cci200s and I also have IMR4350.
Your IMR4350 suggestion is starting to make me think and remember. Uh oh. Last year, I had some issues with a Savage 30-06 and...
I am not getting the best consistent fps when using H4350 for 30-06 and 165gr Interlocks which of course is contributing to not the best groups. Deviation can be as much as 50 FPS now matter how careful I am with prep and reloads. Using Fed210 primers and Remington brass.
Whenever I use H4831...
