The 175 ABLR touches the lands at 3.615". My best groups are at 3.49". If my math is correct that would be a .125" jump. I never start ABLRs or Accubonds closer than .050 off the lands. Most of the time I have found them to shoot best around .1" off the lands. The BTs I start .01 off.

I demilled all my 28 Nosler loads due to them showing pressure. Turned the necks to remove a troublesome donut. Turns out that was the problem. No more pressure spikes. I took the opportunity to try a couple other powders and they worked pretty well.
I also put some new loads through the...
Six years ago I drew an Oregon Wenaha bow tag(3000 applicants for 40 tags) and had an amazing hunt. I wasn't expecting to draw because it took about 16 points and I only had 5 points. I called 13 branch bulls in, passed on 2 and missed the biggest one of all. Best time ever. I was between jobs...
Scotty,
The right tools make the difference! Little crow trimmer, Annealeze and powered case prep center make it much more efficient. I used to hate it as well. I'm seeing group sizes shrink with neck turning and annealing.

Pretty maids all in a row. 28Nosler and 6.5Creedmoor
Today was a busy day in the mancave. I prepped a lot of brass.
200 28Nosler chamfered, annealed and primed. I had already sized and neck turned these.
100 Hornady 6.5Creedmoor resized, cleaned, trimmed, chamfered, annealed and primed.
100 Win...
I use a non bushing Redding Neck die and do a full length resizing about every 3 firings or if chambering starts to get snug. That's only for brass used in the same rifle all the time. Any hunting rounds or ammo that may be used in multiple rifle is always FL sized.

I have brakes on several guns that really don't need them. They're nice to do load work ups with them then take them off and put the thread protector on for field work(may have to rezero). I have the smith make a thread protector when he installs brake. I have most of my guns threaded for either...
Back when the 26Nosler came out I fell in love with the case. I thought it was a bit much for a 26 but thought a 7mm would be great. I found a great deal on 26 brass and bought a bunch; planning to wildcat a few rounds. I built my 28Nosler and had great success with it and the neck upped brass...
I spent the day at the range on Monday. I tried out some new tools/toys and worked out a few of my rifles. The range is only 20 minute from the house and has 50-100yd. ranges. I do my load work and sight ins here.
The Labradar and Pig saddle/Tripod both are worth the money.
The 223 Howa keeps...
Guy,
Right now it's carrying a Nikon 3x9 but it's bulkier than I would like. I'm considering moving a Leupold 2x7 to it. It's half the size. We'll see...…

Mostly for blacktails but might take her to Wy for Antelope some day. It's a Howa 1500 in 6.5 Creedmoor stocked in a B&C youth stock. Just breaking it in, will start load work soon. It's a handy little rifle, weighs about 6.5 pounds. The trigger is really crisp and it's easy to shoot. I tried...
Build the bench high enough to stand at without stooping; if you want to sit use a high barstool. This will allow you to use rolling tool cabinets underneath. Massive, usable storage space. Consider the Ultra mount system to mount presses, vices and misc. tools. They have interchangeable plates...
Bought a Howa 1500 Mini barreled action in .223 to make a 6mm TCU. Bolted it into a B&C M40 and took it the range to practice social distancing. It shot several groups like this with my AR15 plinking ammo. Crap! That's 10 shots out of a warm barrel!
Hey Fotis,
Isn't the 22 creed pretty close to a 22-250AI? My 8 twist 22-250Ai has done really well with the 77-85grain pills. Haven't tried anything larger though. Nice shooting and sharp looking rifle!

Any powder, bullet or cartridge in the market for more than a year is in the data base. There are hundreds of cartridges; many you've never heard of. I can spend hours on it referencing and verifying data. Creating wildcats and running new combinations. If your computer is at all current...
