If anyone knows the 35 Whelen Scotty does. I have the Ackley version and can't help you, the 40degree shoulder,1-12" twist rifling and Weatherby style free bore really makes a big difference in the old Gal.
Gee I've had a few and still have 4 set up and ready to go. 3 Dillons and an RCBS reloader special II. The Dillons are set up for pistol calibers each one a different caliber, one is a 550 with extra tool heads and powder measures. I could get rid of 2 of them and do all the hand gun ammo on the...
Been there done that Jim. But I think mine was more than a squib since mine cycled a fresh round into the chamber and I fired the gun locking it up, cycling recoil all felt normal.
Some things to look for is a contaminated primer, sizing lube getting into the case before dropping the powder...
I showed you what the pistol will do so since I just got it back from the Smith I thought I would share a few pictures.
The padded waterproof case was unexpected but a nice touch from the Smith, the picture of the bottom of the slide shows a special cut done to relieve the pressure on the...
I had the Cataract surgery on both eyes last fall and that made a world of difference in seeing the red dot as long as I don't wear my glasses which have been adjusted to compensate for the new lens implant.
The lens implant is for distance, and I need the glasses for reading.
The red dot for...
Thanks JD338, but it was not me. This is a test target fired from a Ransome pistol rest by my pistol smith. If I could shoot that good I would be a National Champion lol, funny thing is the pistol was built by the now National Bullseye Champion. He not only shoots good but builds a great...
If you think I was blowing smoke about the information I provided this is what my recently rebarreled and tuned 1911 .45 acp will do at 50yds from a ransome rest during testing by my pistol smith.
Lots of good accurate target loads for .45 acp with light bullets to soften the recoil.
First you need to find a load that is consistent and reliable that you can tune to the gun. Just like a rifle each pistol likes a specific bullet and powder.
Bullseye powder is the most popular and can be...
Don't know anything about the Garrison. But I own a Custom Shops 1911 45 that has wore out 2 barrels shooting 10's of thousands of lead and jacketed bullets through it shooting bullseye matches and practicing.
It has just received its third barrel and was tuned up by the present National...
Nice Maine Coon Cat:ROFLMAO:
All jokes aside that's a big kitty.
Back in the 60's before the area I grew up in was developed we had some large Bob cats, I had been fishing for small mouth Bass on a small creek back in the hills, I was stalked by a pair of bob cats wanting the stringer of Bass I...
Very nice Guy.
As for the 185gr Nosler JHP the AMU load is 4.3grs of N310, that load will hold under 3" at 50yds in a well-tuned 1911 .45.
Tite group with the same charge should do well also, 750fps-800fps is the sweet spot for that bullet.
The Wife was busy last night and this morning making doughnuts using her secret mashed potato receipt.
Five dozen total. The mashed potatoes make them creamy.
I use to haul cotton seed out of eastern NC and they were allowed to hunt deer with dogs. You would see the dogs sitting along the roads waiting for the hunters to come pick them up. They were trained not to cross a road and had tracking collars on them.
My light shooting chrony likes to be set up in shade to keep from getting missed shots but it has been very accurate when I do. One of the reasons I haven't jumped on the newer chronographs.
Dewy used my readings to develop some great loads for my 35AI.
edit to add that Dewy adjusted quick load...
