Going up in 0.2 gr increments seems like a waste of brass life , powder and bullets when some of your higher charges are slower than the previous ..
I’ve always just went up in 1 gr increments in magnums and 0.5 gr increments in non magnums and never had any trouble finding great loads.
Some of you guys have helped me in the past with QL , and I was wondering if anybody on here could give me quickload for the 33 nosler with 26” bbl ,270 eldx and RL26 ?
I have loaded up to 77 grns and no pressure yet but am just trying to find out what QL is saying for the top end. My velocity...
I finally got them to shoot, it could be the gun maybe. It a Mcwhorter 270 wby 1-10” and I shoot them at 3260 fps and they shoot half MOA from 200-600 yards which is the farthest I have shot the 150 ablr.
You could just get a 7-08 and some cfe223 or a few different powers and shoot the 120ttsx at 3200 fps. I've had 3 7-08 now a could achieve that speed with all three. A 120 ttsx out of a creedmore at 2800-2900 is pretty gay. The bc difference is minimal. Those 120 sure lay deer down in a hurry...
I've never used hunter but have used big game and found it to be extremely temp sensitive . I stopped using it for that reason. So if there's any body in north western Alberta that's wants some big game powder let me know.
Thanks guys , I did try 1280 yards and that was a little out of my league. I do not have a wind meter, and the 14 power scope is a little under powered. I did come close though. I hit the stand that holds my steel.
This target is a buddies 26 nosler at 500 yards. his was the 5" or so group. Then I shot 2 shots with my 7 rem and the 2 shots touched. He had anther steel plate at 650 yards and I shot 2 shots at it and they were almost touching. i have no picture of that target because we could not get to it...
Well just got home from shooting . The 270 shot great with 130 classic hunters and RL17. I knew this gun has a tight chamber so I was expecting lower velocity . I used factory 150 ablr to site in and break in barrel which were absolutely horrible just like the ablr in any calber have been for...
I do know that the 270 wsm has a very tight chamber or my rem 700 was very sloppy. None of my fired brass can be used in the new gun. No big I guess it's just that 50 pcs were Norma brass.
This will be my 4th 270wsm. I actually traded off a rem 700 270 wsm on the new one.
I will loading the 129 Lrx first and see how it goes. If those don't work I will try the 110ttsx and the 95 ttsx.
