I normally use CCI but can't find any, but I do have 1000 of these Federal match primers. I've read some horror stories about these being way to soft and piercing even in relatively mild loads, anyone have any experience? Powder is Alliant 2400 with 158 XTP.

Who has experience with this cartridge? Does it outrun the standard .338-06? I think it would be fun to build one or the other. I know it would be easier to just go buy a 338 Win Mag, but it wouldn't be as much fun!

I just loaded up some 50 grain bullets with Varget and 1/2 grain of powder sure makes a difference.
