Low recoiling loads for the 250 Savage?

Guys, looking for bullet suggestions for reloading low recoil rounds for the 250 Savage. Yes, from what I read, the caliber is already low recoiling, but really looking for a powder puff for my child. Would you download Nosler 100gr. Ballistic Tips, or would you try, Sierra, I think...

    Anyone shooting the .250 Savage?

Would like to hear your experience with the .250 Savage... Kicking around the idea of getting one for the son's first rifle. Jim

    ...off the lands.

I would love to hear some of your actual experiences when playing with seating depths of your bullets. Really would like to hear cases where accuracy was greatly affected and in cases where "it didn't matter." Jim

    Penetration and impact velocity...

After the "use enough gun thread," I see that most believe that "bigger is better" when it comes to elk. Bigger, seems to mean magnum velocity not just big bullets. How does bullet impact velocity correlate to penetration when using jacketed bullets? I know that when using hard cast bullets...

    Elk....use enough gun????

When people talk about elk cartridges, you often hear the famous, "use the biggest caliber you can shoot well." And then they recommend cartridges that usually end with MAGNUM. Today, with all the great bullets and powders we have, what really is "enough gun" for elk. Jim

When is a bonded bullet really needed???

Looking for opinions on when one really NEEDS to be shooting bonded core bullets.... I can understand it for those who like to shoot the ultra-velocity rounds, or for those who like to shoot the shoulder, instead of behind the shoulder. Take my humble 6.5x55 or 9.3x62, rounds with modest...

OAL for loads in Ballistic Room?

Was looking at Accubond loads for my 9.3x62mm and 6.5x55mm rifles in the Nosler Ballistic Room... Since they don't list an overall length for the cartridge, does anyone know if they are seating the bullet to the cannelure or not? Thanks, Jim

    Modern 6.5x55 with Nosler Accubonds...

I have a CZ 550 FS that I used last fall on whitetails. My 100gr. Nosler Ballistic @ 3050fps worked perfectly on shots of 120yds. and 270yds. Thinking about using the rifle for something bigger, so I have a pile of 130gr. Accubond's stashed at work. Being a new bullet, I can't find any load...

The 6.5mm 100gr. Nosler Ballistic Tip

This bullet has great accuracy in my CZ550FS... The load I shoot leaves the barrel at 3050fps. Shot one whitetail at 120yds. and another at 270yds and both times the bullet performed perfectly. Dime-sized hole in the near lung, nearly half-dollar-sized through the far lung, and a nickle-sized...
