Mine is a .308 and the manual goes up to 49 grains. I got to 48 grns and when I saw the vel I quit. Didn't try to shoot a group with it but coud hit 1 liter bottles at 200 yds with it.

Will a 99 Savage have enough action strength to handle loads listed in the various load books. I found one load that gives ( 48/R15/2932 vel) speer manual # 13 )in my bolt action ruger. 47 grns gives over 2800 which is plenty for me. Also generally do 99 savages shoot well ?

Well I set it 3/4 inch high at 50 yds it is about 2" high at 100 on the money more or less at 200 and 7 inches low at 300. That works for me and I was able to shoot small coke bottles at 200 yds. Should work for deer. seldom ever shoot over 200 anyway. This is with a BAR lwt in 06 with factory...

If one click moves my scopew 1/4 at 100 yds how much does one click move it at 50 yds. ? :oops:

48 grns of TAC 250 hornady 2350 out of my little 20" bbl browning. shoots one hole groups.

My blr in .358 is my favorite black bear rifle 23 bears and no complaints. I just live with the trigger and this rifle is also a real shooter .

I shot out the ace of spades with my new hawkeye in .308 win right out of the box. I also bought one in .358 but didn"t shoot it as I already have two .358's (got carried away in the heat of the moment.) After I put a business card under the forend tip it really shot good.

I bought a .308 wood/matt but when I pick it up you can hear all kinds of squeeking and feel movement side to side and up and down , it feels like the bbl is slipping in and out of a wood channel inside the stock. I called ruger and they said it was free floated and everything was ok. But, man...

TryTAC 52/200/- 2750 48/250/ gives over 2400 both very accurate

In your view is the .308 win. enough for really big black bear, 400 plus ,with 180grn rullets or is the .358 better ?

Forgot to mention I've killed many bears and wild boar with the .358. It really smacks em' down.

Has anyone tried TAC with 200 and 250 grn bullets in a 20" blr ?
