    .223 For Deer

After reading through that thread I'm definitely going to give these a whirl. Sounds like the terminal performance is right up my alley. Anybody got powder suggestion? I've got benchmark which will load this bullet but I'm open for ideas.

    .223 For Deer

I guess I should clarify that my 223 is a New England Handi-Rifle single shot breech loader with 1-9" twist so I do not have feed or action issues like an AR does.

Thinking of cooking up a 223 load for southeastern whitetail. Starting with around a 70 grain bullet. Anybody got any suggestions???

    Need a 223 load???

I need some load data for a 223 using a 52gr hollow point and Benchmark powder. I've got an older book and there is no data listed for that bullet. Thanks in advance!

    25-06 load suggestions

Well it's been a while and I've still not gotten to work on this thing but I have decided on the components. I'm going to set up for whitetail deer with a 100 grain partition and RL-19 powder. I need the charge numbers for Reloader 19 and the 100 grain bullet from the new book however. My...

110 grain accubonds and 270 Winchester

Never loaded the 110's for a 270. I use the 130 gr AB in mine and it shoots GREAT!

    25-06 load suggestions

I've got a Remington 700 ADL in 25-06 and I need to come up with a load. This gun was passed to me due to a family death and I'm pretty well set for deer/elk with my .270 win and .308 rem, I've also got a .223 rem for varmints. I can't really decide what to set the 25-06 up for. I'm tempted...

    I figured it out!!!!!!

Well, after close to 100 rounds, a lot of stress, and a few more gray hairs I have figured out my .223 and its malfunction. This rifle has the worst case of clean barrel syndrome I have ever seen. My 270 suffers from CBS too but it only takes one fouling shot to bring it in. This .223 takes...

    What is happening?????

I MAY have found the problem but I won't know until I get back to the range early next week. I sat down last night and started through the scope mounts and rings. The base mount screws were "tight" but I was able to torgue about 1/8 of a turn into each one. I have two piece rings with single...

i got an elk tag in NM,

I got a mulie muzzleloader tag for area 33 in Colorado so I've been doign the load search myself. I've settled on the 300 grain Hornady FBP with 90 grains of pyrodex in a 50 caliber hawken rifle with a 1 in 48 twist. I shot maxi-balls, maxi hunters, and the FBP. The maxi-ball and the FBP were...

    What is happening?????

I've got some major issues with a .223 and I can not figure out what is going on. Here are the basics: New England handi rifle .223 Remington 22" Barrel 1 in 12" twist. I've been trying to work up a load and absolutley can NOT get anything resembling a group. Closest thing to a group was 1.3...

    Help selecting a bullet

I've shot maxi-balls out of it before and wasn't real pleased with the accuracy. It was fair but I'd like something just a little better. I am eyballing the TC maxi-hunter of the Hornady FPB just to see how they do.

    Help selecting a bullet

Ok folks here is my deal....Hopefully, I'll be hunting mule deer in Colorado this fall with my muzzleloader. Ol' Betsy is a 50 caliber Hawken rifle that shoots great but really prefers the sabot load that I have cooked up. Problem is Colorado does not allow sabots. What are ya'lls ideas about...

    mailorder primers

Primers can NOT be found in western NC. They are as scarce a chickens teeth. Talking to the guy at the local shop this morning he said they had received only 7,000 primers TOTAL, that is ALL brands, and ALLl types, since Chirstmas.

Need a good load for 223 REM

I need a good load for the 223 Rem. I'm looking for something that is super accurate yet effective on whistle pigs and 'yotes. So far I'm looking at a 50 grn BT using Benchmark Powder but I'm open for suggestions.

    Accubond..VERY appropriate name

The Accubond is probably the best named bullet I have seen. Shot both of my rifles Tuesday with very similar results. My rifles are totally unmodified straight "off the shelf" models. Factory triggers and everything. To say that I am impressed with this bullet is an understatement. Savage...

Rate of Twist for 22 Cal BT's

The main reason I'm asking is that I'm looking to buy a coyote gun in either a 223 or a 22-250. The rifle that I want has a 1-9 twist in 223 and 1-14 in the 22-250. I know I'll probably be shooting at least a 50 grain bullet and might try the 60 grain BT. I'm really torn between calibers and...

Rate of Twist for 22 Cal BT's

I noticed that on the page for the 22 caliber 60 grain BT that it says for a rate of 1 in 10 twist or greater. Is this just required for the heavier 60 grain bullet for stabilization? What are the rate of twist recommendations for lighter bullets like a 45 or 50 grain in 22 caliber.

    Can they outlaw your reloading?!?!?!?!?

Remember though, this bill is in Illinois and we KNOW who is a senator from there now don't we.
