  We went NM on an cow elk hunt and we had 5 cow tags and killed 5 cows. 3 were killed with the 110 AccuBond 1 neck shot 2 behind the shoulder shots. What a great bullet. Those bullets (handload) are the bomb, great penetration, great expantion.love them. Next will be a big bull. Nozler should geta big pat on the back for these bullets. Job well done Nozler. :) :)

elkslayer54,

What caliber you shooting those 110 gr AB's in?

Could we have a little more info. Caliber used, range. How far did they go after being hit. I am particularly interested because I plan on using the same bullet in my 25-06 on spike bull next year.

THe only cal Nosler shows for the AB is a 25 cal.

We were using 2 ruger m77 old style and one remington, all using my handloads of the 110gr AccuBond with 53gr reloader 22. 1st cow shot behind the shoulder (bullet on off side hide) ran app 60yds piled up. 2nd cow shot behind shoulder, (bullet never recovered), Gutpile not a pass through. ran app 50 yds, piled-up. Third cow shot in neck app 120 yds DRT. (dead right there). (pass through). I have always shot partitions and wanted to try these bullets, Man I love them, People say a 25-06 is too light for elk. These people odivously have never killed an elk with one. Good luck gents Sorry for the delay in responding.

I assume you are using a 25-06 becuz of the 53g RL-22. I am wanting to use these same bullets on a spike or cow, whichever I draw. Was also thinking a bout the 100g Partition, because I have a 100 of them. Another question I have to ask is how far were the first 2 cows? Thanks a lot, your information is helpful.

It was a 25-06. See his post

The Cal was a 25-06 three different guns, the first cow was app 70yds and the second was about the same, third was 120yds. I would not hesitate to leave my 300 Remington Ultra Mag at home, and take my 25-06 on a BIG BULL hunt. My groups are great and the killing power is owesome. AccuBond is the best of both worlds, The partation is still a great round. I don't know if I will switch my 300 RUM to accubonds, The partitions shoot better out of my RUM than the accubonds do out of my 25-06 and it shoots moa. Good luck fellers, I hope this was enough info, Later Bill

I was hoping they would be longer shots as thats what I'm used to in my elk country, and would like to see what there reactions were to a longer shot. I Dont expect a shot closer then at least 250-300 where I hunt elk. I would be using mine for spikes as well, so a cow is a good comparison. The little 25-06 has a little more killing power then most think it does. It flat out kills to 500 yards, even black bears. I think I would shoot a cow or spike out to 500 yards, given it was broadside. I would put the first shot behind the shoulder to get the vitals, then when it started to go up or downhill, try to whap it in the shoulder to keep it from going to far. Where I hunt, it would try to go to the deepest darkest hole it could find. Then that just makes the pack out that much harder. Thats why I take my 300 RUM with 200g AB's for elk, thats a bang flop combo out to 800 yards when you put the bullet in its shoulders. Anyways, thanks for the information. Just wished they woulda been around 300 yards or so, but you cant never complain about the close shots.
