Tons of guys are having success with the 1 in 10 but there are no downsides with going with a faster twist. Gives you more options down the road and there are more high b.c. bullets coming out now for the 257 rounds.

The 115 BT works great with the standard 1:10 twist 25-06, I've taken deer to 400 yards with it, no problem. Also as close as 20 yards. Goodness, that was interesting.
If you get a faster twist your rifle will be able to handle the newer, longer, higher BC bullets. When my factory 1:10 25-06 barrel finally gives up, I'll replace it with a faster 1:8 or something near that.

I have a M700 Classic 257 Roberts 1:10 twist and it shoots lights out with the 115 gr BT.

When I had a LH Rem 700 CDL rebarreled to 250AI, I went with the 1:10 twist as it was supposed to be good for bullets up to 120 gr, and the bullet I am still hopping to find a good load for is the 110 gr AccuBond. PO Ackley suggested that this cartridge would push a 100 gr bullet to 3200 fps with IMR 4350.
My research is suggesting that I may get 3200 fps with the 110 gr AB with Re-26 and 3100 fps with the same bullet with IMR4451. Time will tell how this 24" King barrel will perform.
Fireforming Winchester brass for my chamber with factory Winchester 100 gr Power Point ammo is producing 2671 fps compared to the manufacturer's suggested velocity of 2820 fps. Most of realize the manufacturer's suggested velocity is generally optimistic, plus I am also losing some velocity due to fireforming the brass to the improved chamber; how much is another matter beyond my ability to calculate or predict. The accuracy with this is good, producing groups averaging .481" @ 100 yards.
My Ruger No.1 in 257 Roberts has the 1:10 twist, and I have yet to sight it in with the factory 110 gr AB or 120 gr Partition ammo to see which it is going to prefer. I also have a supply of 115 gr BT's to try in it. With 110 gr in the 250 AI, I am hoping for the 115/117/120 gr bullets to be the performers in the Bob.
At the end of the day, I am looking at using typical hunting bullets, and not VLD bullets or monos that are typically longer in length and that would benefit from faster twist rates.
If this is your desire, other than just wanting to use the 115 gr BT, then you should probably look at a faster twist to get the desired result.

I’m hoping it will hold stability out to 500-600 maximum.
Im thinking 9tw would be safe.

I’ve got faster barrels for big Berger/monos. And more capacity to push them with!
The bullet is absolutely capable, typical Nosler results in my experience.
Those groups are from a 25 Sherman LA, barrel is currently getting a re-crown. 1-9” Shilen 115BT

I think Guy is right on w/ this advice. I have a 1:10 on my 250 Savage and it shoots equally well with 100 or 75 grain bullets. I have not heard of a consistent down side to turning them faster. CL

I've relied on Retumbo for excellent velocity and accuracy with the 110 & 115 gr bullets. Really good results. Haven't yet used the 110 gr Accubonds on game, but others say they work well. I don't doubt that at all. With Retumbo the 110's were breaking 3200 fps with the SD at 7 fps... And nearly 1/2 MOA accuracy from a factory Remington 1:10 twist barrel. I'll take that. 
Also tried IMR 8133... Oh my goodness! Great powder for 115's and the 25-06, but... can't get it anymore. Phooey.

I use the factory loaded 115 BT in my 257 Weatherby and it's extremely accurate. I've taken antelope to 500+ yards with it.

Dang Fotis, looks like that 1:10 twist didn't properly stabilize those bullets... You got such awful accuracy!

This is my feeling exactly Guy. I’ve had exceptional performance from the standard 1-10” twist Remington 700 rifle for years.
But when the time comes I will probably put a Lilja 1-7.5 or 1-8 on it just in case I want to try some of these newer high bc bullets. Of course our favorite old standbys of 100-120 grain weight will stabilize famously even with a faster twist.
