130gr. TTSX in 308 Win.

I would be interested to hear from anyone who is shooting the 130 gn. TTSX using Varget.
Looking to develop a load for my .308 win with a 20” barrel.

51.0 gr Varget got me 3,140 fps in a 22" bbl. But .... powder compression was an issue in the Lapua case and the accuracy was poor in my rifle. The only powder that I found to NOT have compression issues and still provide good velocity and accuracy with the 130 TTSX in my .308 was Benchmark.

That's just my experience, others may have had different findings with the 130 TTSX and different guns/components.

That 130 gr TTSX should be an awesome bullet in the 308 Win. I think I'm going to have to give that one a try in my M21 308. I'm also thinking it would make for a light recoiling load for my grandson.

I shot a doe with the 150gr TTSX out of my 30-06 and was a devastating heart shot. The deer dropped dead without even a wiggle. 130’s out of an 308 would be ideal.
I grabbed the 30-06 (new barrel😁)instead of the 308 this year. I have the 130’s for the 308 ready for next year.

Years back Weatherby offered 130gr. TTSX factory ammo for the 30-378. I have toyed with that idea in my 30-378 , but with an 8 twist barrel I’ll loose some fps.

Sure the hell did. 3730fps

Last week I dusted off my Vanguard 308 and put the Barnes to work. I had some odd headstamp Winchester brass a guy at work gave me awhile back. I had some W748 left in a bottle and put it to use. One thing I can tell you Barnes load data is off , it list W748 49.4grs to 54.9grs with Win. brass. 54.9 would be running over the top. I started at 49.5 was at 3060fps went up a 1/2 a grain til I hit 3139fps at 52grs. At 52 I was up the neck a ways , I stopped there. Tried them on paper and I’m set on this.
