2 things you always carry in the woods

I noticed no one mentioned toilet paper. It has many uses in addition to its normal use which I can guarantee you will happen once you're in the woods about a 1/4 of a mile.:ROFLMAO: After reading the post again I see that Toilet paper was mentioned a couple of times. Good thinking!!!!
Have used toilet paper to mark a blood trail and it's biodegradable. No need to remove tape from the trees or bushes. Dan.

Rifle and knife , I’m pretty basic as I park the 4-wheel under my stand.

This is why I wanted to start this thread, I never thought about marking a trail with toilet paper, great idea. It helps us all think outside the box and get home to our loved ones safely.

Besides a Bunch of other stuff and common items { knife - rope etc } 2 really important items are #1 waterproof -windproof matches and fire starter . 👍

This is something I have carried the last 20 years or so, extremely handy for lots of tasks. 1st one being to cut a 26" hardwood pole bout 1" diameter ( green) to put across a 200lb plus whitetails antlers , lashed with parachute cord to get him outta the woods.... it is always in my rear game pocket of my wool jacket along with a sandwich! It weighes NOTHING ; I can build a leantoo in 20 mins with it; clear out branches for shooting lane from a stand or blind. Build a temporary blind in no time. It goes with saying I always have a Marbles brass compass and matchsafe, in my jacket at all times.

These type of posts really interest me.
It’s one where you’ll get as many answers as people who reply.
I’ve contemplated this, and my items would include my maxpedition and a knife.
The mini pack also will have a Streamlight Macrostream, and my hunting license.
This is so hard, to just have two items to list, as there are so many things that can be included.
I like to have two ways to start a fire, two knives if possible, I may also carry a pair of hand clippers to trim branches or a folding saw similar to 35 Whelen.IMG_6624.jpegIMG_6625.jpeg
