2020 Hunting Pictures

My daughter's hunting buddy got this one Tuesday morning...He's a little lop-sided, but she's quite pleased with him, and it lit a fire under my daughter to get out and get one herself.

Congratulations to the young lady. Lop-sided or not, I'd take him. She did well. Did she tell you anything about her cartridge or the specifics of her hunt?

According to her dad, She was using his old Marlin 30-30 with iron sights. He came in after about an hour to her ground blind and she shot him at about 50 yards and he took off into the brush. They gave him about an hour and found him 75 yards away from where she shot him. The 150 grain Core-Lokt was a little far back, but still got both lungs.

Excellent and good for her! That is great. The ol' 30-30 will get 'er done if we do our part.

That is one hell of a big cheesy grin. That smile gets any bigger her face will break.

I shot an 8 pt with the 700 Classic 35 Whelen and a 250 gr PT dropping him in his tracks during the MI rifle season.
My wife shot a 6 pt with her Nosler M48 280AI and a 140 gr BT also DRT.

Nice Buck JD! If I may say so, you are lucky to have a beautiful hunting partner, and she shore has a purty rifle! All the best CL

I just went back through the whole thread , lots of nice stuff . congratulations to all .

My wife filled her second buck tag on this big brute of a buck. He has 10 pts and is 21" wide. She used her Nosler M48 280AI with a 140 gr BT.

Jim, you and Sue are having a great year. Sue's second buck is one heck of a deer. Congratulations to both of you for your season. (y) Sue's 10 pointer must earn a place on the trophy wall, eh?

How far was the shot? How far did it run? Shoulder shot? Details, details.

Dan

Thanks fellas. Sue made a 100 yard shot hard quartering on now or never shot. She hit above the brisket and the 7mm 140 gr BT exited the armpit behind the the right leg. She broke the upper right leg bone/ shoulder ànd toasted the right lung. The buck jumped straight up in the air and ran tail down low and hard. He went into a swamp where we found him about 200 yards away. She made this shot in low light right at last legal shooting time. Thankfully her VX-6 2-12x42mm gave her the advantage she needed to make her shot count.
It took my buddy and I about 1.5 hours to get him out of the swamp and loaded up in the truck.
Well worth it!

That's a gorgeous buck, hope she gets him mounted. Not likely to get one much bigger although you never know.

I first saw this guy around Halloween seeking does. He popped up on the trail cam early in rifle season as you see him here. No sight of him until yesterday at last shooting light. The .300 WM At just under 400 yds ended the season. Hunted every day too. Persistence does pay off.

That is a great looking buck. Congratulations. Is it an 8 point or a 10 point? I can't tell definitely from the photos. What bullet did you use? Dan
