22-250 at the Range

Excellent coyote round. I've shot quite a few with the 50 gr BT.

Alderman,
I've been shooting a friends 700- 22-250 VLS. IT is a tack driver. Is the rifle you're shooting what replaced the VLS? if it is you will get some very accurate loads. My question is, the VLS is heavy with a 26" barrel, do you hunt coyotes with yours and how heavy and length of barrel?
Thank you.

I’ve not hunted coyotes with it mainly because they don’t show on the homestead during the day and the other coyotes I get are just incidental while hunting for something else.
I’m not sure what gun it replaced but this is a very heavy gun with a 26 barrel.
I’d purchased an SPS in 300 Win Mag and after using it on elk and not having a varmint rifle at the time I opted to get one in 22-250.
I don’t have to pack either far so weight isn’t an issue.

I had a 700 VLS in 22-250. It was indeed a black driver. It killed quite a few coyotes but as mentioned, it is very heavy. 26" bull barrel and a Nikon Monarch 4-14 tipped the scale around 12 lbs. I ended up selling it because I got tired of lugging it around.
