I took the Tikka out to the range to check zero. It still shoots 1/2 MOA with 38.0gn of H380- but the ES was 70fps! Now, I’m sure that’d be a dead ‘yote at 300 yards, but I’d love to bring that ES down. What do you recommend for 50gn BTV or V-Max from a .22-250 with 1:14 twist?

Well- Recommend?- If it aint broke.... ;) Seriously just checked because it said "250". If I could get my 250 savage to consistently shoot 1/2 inch groups I'd get bored. But this hobby is what thats all about. Have at it. I will be watching with interest.

Interesting to me that 38 grains of a couple different powders is what Nosler lists as the most accurate load for the 250 Savage.. IMR 4350 and Viht N150 work for me. CL

The couple things that come to mind here is the brass from the same lot , even neck tension , and what is your brass prep steps.

I have two “go-to” loads for the .22-250.

A- 55 grain NBT/39 grs of H380
B- 55 grain SGK/35 grs of Varget

If magazine OAL or twist constraints wont allow one to use “A” I simply switch to “B.”
