I've had really good results with the 40gr BT out of my .223. Pretty small holes compared to some other bullets I've used. Like the others said, it all has to do with bone contact. Right behind the shoulder I usually get a .22 caliber entry and a .22 caliber exit (the base will pass through sometimes). I think you'll really like the 50gr BT out of your .22-250, should put the smack down on them. Good luck.
