22 cal custom comp 77 gr

I tried some of these in my Remington VTR with a 1-9 twist. Loaded with TAC powder, a cantaloupe would have been safe at 100 yds.

Seems I need a faster twist?

Anyone else have luck with these in a 223 ?

20 bullets shot, 230 to go.

They work great from a 1/7 twist barrel.

Not so hot from the 1/9 barrels... Sadly.

Nope, you'll need an 8 twist for the 77s. A 9 twist in the .223 will stabilize a maximum of 70 grain bullets.

They shoot about an inch from my 1-9 twist barrel, my 1-8 puts them into sub half inch groups.

The 69 grainers shoot pretty good from my 1-9 though.
