Sweet cartridge, that.

Thanks Doc !

Always helpful and quick.

As you can imagine ...still testing.

I am on a quest for a very fast load for the 50 grs. Ballistic Tip, to be able to match the trajectories of other 2 loads I have.

So far, the load I am using (50 BT - Norma 200 x 20,7) seems to "loose" too much drop (extimated 3/4" MOA) compared to the others....

I'm gonna "push" the charge a bit (thinking of 21,5 grs.) and shorten OAL.

Any tips I should know ?

A tenth of a grain likely won't be a game changer for you. Data would indicate that you will gain ~15fps, which is negligible in the real world. Depending on your chamber dimensions, it likely won't generate dangerous pressures. You're always wise when tickling the dragon's tail to work up, watching for pressure, nevertheless. Again, sweet cartridge that deserves far more respect than it receives.

Yeah Doc, you are correct.

But if I compare my previous load (20,7) the gain should be around 120 fps, which should do the trick...

Also, as said, I'm gonna shorten OAL from 2,20" to the 2,13", which should help as well.

I do not know the reason why, yet  , but I get a 60 grs. Partition flying higher than the 50 BT.....

I have a feeling that this bullet (with this caliber) needs to be pushed a bit....

Hey Doc, I have a tip for you.

When posting QL data do the following.

Highlight your selected data, go to the top of the page and "save to clipboard".

Then when posting, type Square bracket left, code, square bracket right. Square bracket left, slash, code, square bracket right. Past in the middle. Looks like this.
code_zpsa504e3e8.jpg

When you are done your QL data should look like this.

Code:
Cartridge : .222 Rem.
Bullet : .224, 50, Nosler BalTip 39522
Cartridge O.A.L. L6: 2.130 inch or 54.10 mm
Barrel Length : 20.0 inch or 508.0 mm
Powder : Norma 200
