.223 75 gr. Hornady HPBT data

Would someone with QL software or the Hornady book be able to share data on loading this? Will be shooting out of a 9 twist 26" barrel in an attempt to develop a 600 yard load.

About the only powder I have on hand that may work is Reloader 15...But probably can find some Varget or others if needed.

I shot this bullet over a season of Over The Course service rifle from a 1:8 RRA.

My load was 24 gr Varget, Fed match primer and LC 11 brass seated to mag length. This is in line with Lyman, Hornady, Hodgedon and Internet Data for 5.56mm loads. I also tested 24 gr IMR 4064 and 25 gr BL-C2. Both of these loads were also good, but I stuck with the Varget load as I finally found enough of it to use for the summer and it is a proven load fired by many experienced HP shooters.

I found it very accurate. Was a little more susceptible to wind than my longline load using the 80 gr Nos HPBT over R15 and HSM brass but I did use it successfully, scoring in the low 190s from the 600 yard mark in a couple of matches when I ran short of the 80 grain load.

Not sure how well this bullet will work in your 9 twist barrel. Might be good, might not be, only one way to find out.
