I went to the range finally with 5 diff loads of 414 and 5 loads of RL17.
This is with the 85gn PT and OAL at 2.66"
The 414 threw them all over the place and got sticky at .5gns less then max.
The RL17 shot "OK" with one load at max of 43.5gns 5 shots at about .75" - 44gns was a little over inch and .5gn more opened up again. Pressure signs were good with the RL17.
I'm going to work with the 43.5gn and change the seating depth some, I was at .025" in my bore.

The 300RUM was shot just for fun. The load I settled in with is 95gn Retumbo and 200AB.
It performed as good as I could wish. One fouling shot and 5 in one hole!

I'm wanting to make the 85gn PT work with the 243 and the RL17 was OK but if there any other suggestions from experience - I'll take it. I'm not trying to make it a "One Hole" shooter but an all around hunting rifle from Coyote/Wolf to Whitetail (Idaho).
This is the CDL SS with an HS-Precision Stock, Jewel Trigger and a Leupold 4.5-14 CDS.

I won't have as much time as I used to since I became a Grandpa this week for the first time.
My daughter lives 6 hrs away so you can guess that Grandma will be making lots of trips with me in tow of course part of the time.

Congratulations all the way around. Nothing better than being a Grandpa. The opportunity to spoil the grandchildren is one of life's greatest pleasures. Whilst you are doing load work with your 243 and 300 RUM, you need to start thinking about what rifle that grandchild will need. Of course, grandpa can hang onto it until the teen years.

Sounds like some great calibers and nice loads. I'm hoping to get out this weekend and try 4 different loads for the .243 and the 100 grain Partition. Loaded IMR 4831, IMR 4350, RL 19 and RL 22...we'll see what happens.

Congratulations on the little one in the family! Pretty darn neat. Best of luck with the 243 and the 85 gr. Partition. That would be a great bullet for all the items you had on your wish list there! H4350 & IMR4350 sure work for me in my 6mm. I settled on the IMR brand now my son is using the Hodgdon H100V in his with great results with the 90 gr. E-tip. Might be worth a try!

We sure would appreciate photo's of the CDL & the little hunter in the family!

Thanks for the tip on IMR4350. I'll give that a try. I'll go to the website and get starting loads. I haven't uploaded baby pics from the camera yet but here is the CDL and Sendero.

IMR 4350 was always my go to powder in the 243 Win with 95 and 100 gr bullets.

Great looking rifles for sure. I'd like to put a B&C on my .300 RUM SPS in the near future as well.

Good job man....

3 shot groups on hunting sticks.
