I just got off the phone and finished placing an order for a Rem 700 sps varmint chambered in .243, It has a 26" heavy barrel with a 1:9 1/8 twist.

any load recommendations would be highly appreciated.

cheers! 8)

What game will you be loading for? I have a 26" inch Rugerr M77VT and a 24" Howa 1500. Both shoot the 70 grain Nosler Ballistic Tip extremely well. I use them for coyotes. Both guns will shoot under 1/2" with 47.5 or 48 grains H414, or 41.5 grains Varget.

55g NBT, 53g H-380, RP case, Fed 210, 4100fps, .75" @100 yards...

70g NBT, 47g IMR-4350, RP case, Fed 210, 3600fps, .75" @100 yards...

100g SBT, 43.5g IMR-4831, RP case, CCI BR-2, 3000fps, .5 MOA to 525 yards.

The NBT's are coyote/varmint loads and make short work of them to 500 yards...The Sierra Gameking is a deer load if I was to ever take the .243 deer hunting...
