New to the board and in a bit of a pinch with a Pronghorn hunt fast approaching so my time to load and test is limited.

Anyone have a starting load they can recommend that has performed for them?

Must be IMR 4350 powder (it's all I have), 95 grain Nosler BT, have Winchester WLR primers and shooting a Weatherby Vanguard .243 Win

The old reloadersnest.com had a three loads with 95 grn bullets (Nosler Partition and Hornady SST) and IMR4350 but I have not loaded for that caliber. Perhaps you can get a QL run first.

This is a rough estimation without your overall length, water capacity and barrel length.

Code:
Cartridge : .243 Win.
Bullet : .243, 95, Nosler BalTip 24095
Useable Case Capaci: 48.826 grain H2O = 3.170 cm³
Cartridge O.A.L. L6: 2.710 inch = 68.83 mm
Barrel Length : 24.0 inch = 609.6 mm
Powder : IMR 4350

Sorry - cant help you with a load as I cant find any bullets (not looking real hard though). Anyway I bought my 243 so in a pinch I could walk into walmart and buy a box of shells (like.. on an antelope hunt if some ones rifle goes south). So much for that logic... Any way, I have had good luck with Win "Deer season XP". 95gr. I think. Sub inch groups out of the box from my Savage rifle....and I have seen some on the shelf. Price is ridiculous (+$40 a box) but what aint these days. Good luck with the hunt, and welcome to the board! CL

I've loaded several 95 to 100 gr. bullets using Winchester cases and CCI200 primers. Old Hodgdon data maxes out at 42.0 grains of IMR 4350 and that worked well for me. Check their website.

The loads I had seen for 95 grn and IMR4350 were in the range of 40-42, with sub 1/2" groups. Since I did not load any, I did not want to say it before. It seems that some of you have tried them.
Thanks for sharing

Thanks for the feedback, I did just that, found 2 boxes of Hornady Superformance 95 grain ($41 a box!!) and hoped they would shoot well in my rifle but results were not as good as I hoped.
I have a load dialed in for this rifle but cannot find the bullets or the powder right now! Will keep your factory load in mind thank you!

Yep my research has showed the same, at this point unless someone shares a honey load think I'll run with 40.5 grains which is in the middle of the starting and max load in my Lyman handbook.

Great deer bullet! My son have used it a lot in our 6mm Remington.

Hodgdon lists IMR 4350 and the 95 gr Nosler Partition in their Reloading Center and also in their print manual. That ought to get close enough to the 95 grain Ballistic Tip.

Welcome!

I preface it by "Dont Try this at home"
But for several rifles/calibers I have interchanged BT, AB and PT with the same powder. The critical thing for me was seating depth (made sure the seating depth in the casing remained the same) and I was still off the lands

Last 243 I had used H4350 with the 95BT about 42.0grs. As many has said start about 40grs working up to 42-42.5 and something should click for you. Dan.
