Any one have any load data for the 25-06 with the 115 gr Ballistic tips
I would really prefer to use H4831SC H4350 or varget as that is what I use now in all
my guns
thanks

Retired CPO,

Welcome to the forum. With a 115 grain BT, try 56 grains of H4831SC as a max. With H4350, consider 52.5 grains as a maximum charge. You might find Varget to be a tad fast. However, should you decide to try it, consider 48 grains as a maximum charge. These recipes were generated with QuickLOAD. Approach them with caution, starting with a ten percent reduction in charge and working up in one grain increments, watching for pressure signs at each step. I do note that the Nosler Guide does not list any of these powders with their data. Usually, I take it that powders that are not listed were omitted for a reason. I suspect that they didn't perform well for the ballisticians at Nosler. While the burn rate of H4831 and H4350 are in the ballpark for what you will want, you might consider Nosler's accuracy powder (IMR4350) with a maximum charge of 49.0 grains.

H4350 is good in the .25-06, but with the 115's Retumbo has given me better accuracy and velocity.

I've had excellent results with H4350 and the 100 gr bullets.

Thanks for the info
IM not to worried about the varget really I only use it in my 223
I have had real good luck, sub moa, with the 75gr vmax, 85gr BT,100gr bt using H4831 and the H4350 if one will work I would not have to add another powder to my locker
We are wanting to try the 115 gr bt to get the higher bc and alittle more weight we have had outstanding results with the 100 gr bt and figured the higher bc and more weight should be a win,win situation.
I was going to try 49/0 gr of H4350 and 53 grH4831.

Good advise. Throw rl22 and rl 25 to the mix, and welcome to the madness

The max load for25-06 with 115's with H-4831 is 52.0 grs in the Hodgdon manual and most others. From personal experience 52 grs is max but shoots really well.

1shot what manual are you looking in I can not find the H4831 listed anywhere
even on the hodgen web site they done list it
I can find a max load or 52 gr for the 117 gr bullet and 54.3 for the 100 gr bullets
thanks

I'm in Guy's camp. Retumbo is a super powder with that bullet. It even works well with the 100 grain bullet.

Welcome to the forum, glad to have you here with us.

These fellas here have some pretty good knowledge on loading the 25-06 and have shared it with you. The slower powders work well in the 25-06. Keep us posted with your load development.

I was a fan of IMR4350 for years sinc I used it in both the 30-06 and .243. It was my comfort powder.

As I became more serious and interested in all aspects of reloading, I found that trying different powders got me out to the range more which became a more complete and enjoyable experience.

One powder that I found to be stellar with the 115gr NBT was IMR7828ssc. It showed a different level of performance even over standard 7828. My long-throated Tang-safety Ruger made me look real good at range.

Retumbo, MRP-2/RL25 have done equally as well for me with the 120gr Partition. I wouldn't let a $22 jug of powder make me use what I had on hand unless this is a new rifle that you need to get the feel for what it likes. The 25-06 is a dream of a cartridge. It shoots flat, hits harder than it should and is a pleasure to shoot.

I was just wanting to try what I have first I get close to one hole with the 85 and 100 gr BT so was hopping to do the same with the 115
I will try others if what I have does not work.
I have only tried retumbo once in my 7mm mag and it did not work well

The Hodgdon data is for 117 gr bullets but 2 grs is not going to be any different.

Retumbo and RL17 turned in some decent groups in my old 25-06. Thinking about trying some RL22 and the 4831's with the new rifle. Scotty

I'd be willing to bet that a 115 could go to 3200 with one of the following

reloader 22
imr 4831 or
aa 3100

I think that I could off most anything with a stiff charge of the above and a 115 grain Partition...

I was getting 3200 with Retumbo using Hodgdon load data and a 24" tube. Scotty

yeah, I noticed that I get higher velocity than hodgdon got with the same charge that they used.

IMR 4350 @ 48.0gr is what we load for my brothers savage 111. and he's getting 1.50" groups @ 100yards
both with the BT's and partions
