25-06 and noslers 110gr accubond

Here's where I'm at with the AccuBond in my 25-06. Right around 3/4 inch. COL around 3.175 with a velocity of a tad over 3300fps

I have a 22” barrel & use 53gns IMR4831 with a cartridge OAL of 3.400” using the AB 110gn bullet.
That’s a long seating, but still leaves .045” freebore to lands.
MV is around 3,130 fps.
Primers I use are Fed.210M & Remington brass.

Given reasonable to fair range conditions, this combo will consistently deliver .2” - .3” MOA groups and is 100% reliable taking red deer at ranges to 320 yds.
That’s the furthest I’ve taken red hinds.

Powder is imr 7977. I used the data off the hodgdon reloading site for the 117gr bullet dropped it back a bit and worked up to max in my gun which is 59gr. It is a pretty stout load so work a load up for your gun don't use my max. The brass is New winchester 30-06 neck to 25 caliber and prolly should have been inside neck reamed, to the point I could not pull bullets with a kinetic puller, moving to regular 25-06 win brass for the next batch.
Elmer the throat in this barrel seem pretty short at least compared to the factory barrel that came off this gun.

I'm fortunate in that I don't have a 'magazine limitation' to contend with on my rifle.
Also, I have what would appear to be, a long freebore.

Currently though, I'm also testing Viht. N560 propellant with a COAL at 3.204"
Comparator dimension with the 110gn AB is 2.688"
I haven't yet settled on a load, but several I've tried look extremely promising
This is using RP brass at present & Fed 215M primers.

My 25-06 does well with the 110 AccuBond and RL19. .75" groups if I do my job. Your rifle will hammer deer with that load.

I made a lot of lapua 30-06 to 25-06 about three years ago and the tension compared to my nosler 25-06 batch takes a lot of work to pull the bullet. I should have turned them down another .001. I’ve been working on the 110 in my 06 too. Went to test my previous load and it went from .25 moa to absolutely terrible.

Redid the load and discovered I might have interpreted a .1 as a .7 and loaded too much in the batch. I’ll get a few in a group and then it’ll throw some off course. I think it’s a combo of the converted brass and not waiting long enough between shots.

I'm not sure what to think when it comes to those odd ball fliers with the 110's, I don't have that problem with the 100gr speer spbt I've been shooting on the same trip to the range, and I'm pushing those a tad over 3400fps, had those over 3500fps, but those loads where pretty brutal on the primer pockets. There's move in the future for us to Nevada, and I'm kinda trying to find a 1 bullet does all for the big game out there. Antalope to Elk, the only thing I'm lacking with the 110 is the SD of that bullet, if I move up to the 120 partitions I'll lose a bit of speed but the SD is like .260 which is higher than a 165gr .30 caliber bullet but I don't have the weight. Maybe I'm just over thinking things. One thing is for sure is that 110 AccuBond is the first bullet I had to move away from the lands and grooves in order for it to shoot, from 3.200 to 3.175 quirky to say the least

I can't say enough good things about the quarter bore 110 AccuBond. The first 4 elk I pointed them at dropped like hit by lightning out of my 257 wby. 85 yards out to 345
3 cows and 1 spike. Also backed up my buddies black bear after it ate a 180 scirocco 300 ultra mag the old AccuBond put him down for good.
For a 1 bullet quarter bore it would be tough to beat the ab

Running two 25-06's with 7977 and the 110. One is in the 3000 round count area and I'm chasing the lands. COAL is 3.3" and is .1 off the lands. Still puts 3 in .75" if I do my part. When this one gets to where I can no longer load them in the magazine, I'll re-barrel. This one is pushing them at 3250 fps.
The other is at .075" off the lands at 3.2" COAL. It's using .5 gr more and pushing the bullet just below 3300. It's a bit more accurate with .6" groups.
Brass on the first one is Nosler, the second one is Herter's brass which I think was/is made by Norma?
I picked up the Nosler brass after my 20 year old Remington brass started splitting even after annealing. I know it had more than 15 loadings on it.

I wish I could get this to shoot closer to the lands in this barrel, i had a Bartlein with a #3 contour put on this gun a couple years ago, it has right around 100rds down it so far, COL with the AccuBond is 3.235 , and and running 59gr of 7977 behind it it shoots pretty good with a COL of 3.173 and it pushes it a tad over 3300 ( 25 inch barrel) I did pick up some 8133 and I'm tinkering with it, shows some promise with a col of 3.200 being pushed by 60gr of the 8133 but I left my chronograph at the other house, so no speed readings till we get back up north..

I finally settled on 100gr btips and after this season I'll resume exploring the 110 accubonds.

This rifle (x-bolt) seems to like 3150 fps. I'm not after top speed since 3150 fps is certainly plenty to do the job. I really didn't see it before but comparing speeds between btips and the AccuBond combo's I tried, (mainly R25, R22 and IMR 4831) 3120-3200 fps produced the best groups in both 110 and 100gr. I'll get pics to demonstrate what I am seeing.

I love when you guys discuss the 25-06. Just a great round even if it lacks the high Bc's of the 6 and 6.5mm that have taken over the world of shooting.

The 110AB is hard to beat. I find an accuracy node at about 2975-3000fps with my 24" barreled Remington. There's another sweet spot for me about 3150-3250 but it's fairly hot in my stock gun and harder to nail down.

I have some powder thoughts but I keep going back to the fact that about 95% of the benchrest pros use a Hodgdon Extreme powder. There is something to that.

The 25-06 sure is a sweet rifle Yoda for the hunting you have planned for it. I too am a huge 110 gr. AccuBond fan. I sold my 25-06 to a friend who gave it to his son as a gift. The usual load I used was IMR4350 with 120 gr. Partitions. It's taken antelope, elk, and deer with that load. You might have to try the 120 or 115 gr. Partition if you don't get the accuracy you are looking for, but I would not give up on it yet.

Accuracy is ok, itll shoot 1 inch groups with the accubonds in front of 7977 at 3300fps, all I ever use was imr 4831 in the old barrel, kill quite a few.deer with the 100gr partitions
