Despite my reservations about non-magnum calibers the 25-06 done good. At 304 yds it dumped a 3 point mule deer on it's butt. Unfortunately the shooter hit the quartering away buck in the hips so a search ensued. It ended well (except for the deer) with a finishing shot. Nosler's reputation is well earned with the 120 gr. Partition. Were it not for the rotation of the earth, sun spots, global warming and poor shot placement the deer was toast. I was impressed with the energy delivery and results. Not so much with my shooting skills. I will post pictures when I get home. Maybe with the elk I hope to get. (with the 338 RUM). Idaho is the best!

Glad you got your deer, looking forward to the pictures. Congrats.

Hi Greg,

Congratulations on the deer. The 25-06 is impressive on deer sized game.
Good luck with the elk.

Congratulations, Greg. There was never a question but that the 25-06 would perform for you.

I am now a believer. I wonder how the 110 gr. AccuBond would do? :?:

It will work very well, Greg. Deer will drop just at the knowledge of what they are facing. You may not even have to pull the trigger! 8)

Fastest kill I ever had was with the .25-06, worst shot I ever made on a pronghorn was with the same rifle. Great cartridge but sometimes I fail on the trigger. I wouldn't hesitate to use it on an elk with the Partition.

Greg,

It will flatten deer right now! The 110 gr AB has a good BC and will give you all the penetration you could ask for.

Greg, congrats! Very glad the little bullet worked out so well. I really like the .25-06 for most of my hunting. Looking forward to your photos.

Congrats Greg. Don't feel to bad. My doe this year took a second shot from a 270 Weatherby.

Great deal Greg. I am looking forward to seeing what my Wife's 25-06 does on deer. Pretty sure I won't be surprised by the outcome. Congrats on the Idaho buck!

My intention is never to second guess or diss anyone else's kit. What they choose and use is their choice and right. I just state from my own experiences sometimes under special circumstances, like long range or low temperatures, but I never will criticise your kit, so carry on. My opinion is strictly that and only worth that.

I 2nd that, it goes for me too...sometimes opinions in print come across the wrong way...heck, sometimes the same happens with spoken words, LOL.

Well spoken (typed) Oldtrader...

I have used the 110 AB quite a bit since its introduction.
Last year I whacked a mulie buck last year with my 257 Bee at 40 yards. MV was 3525fps. One hole in, bigger out!

They work well! Here is my buck from a few years ago. 287 yard frontal shot from a 25-06 doing 3225 fps. Dropped on the spot
