25 Whelen with 75 gr Hornady Vmax!

Thanks boys, she had a perfect pelt! As prime as an Alaskan dog. Again hit too far back, in the kidneys, but the vmax anchored her rihht ontop of the moose! She never moved......
I loaded up 50 of the BlitzKing 90 grs with 60grs of RL25............ 3450fps............. the shoot in exactly the same place as the Vmax 75 do??? Dont know how that can be, but check this out, shot a 1 5/8" group todat at 300yds, so went crazy and put a steelplate 12"x18" over in a tree on the other side of this cove, ranged it at 552yds, holding down two mil dots we started ringing its bell!!! The 25 will almost penetrate a 3/16 plate at 552.......... 90% thru it even with a blitzking, I bet a 115 AccuBond
Would sluce right thru there! So life is good in Maine tonight! And I hope all is good where ever you are tonite!

Dang! That is too cool. 1 5/8" at 300 and 3450 is a winner. Can't wait till you drill a dog with those. Great shooting.

Earle -

I am envious of your current coyote slaying spree...I haven't gotten to shoot one recently. Sounds like you are doing well with your .25 Whelen!

Thanks for sharing!!

Earle,

Congratulations on the coyote. Beautiful pelt. How was the exit with that light bullet?
Hope you get a few more.

Nice shooting Earle. I'd say anytime you can hunt and shoot right out your back door, you've got a pretty nice set up. I happened to see two foxes on different nights last week when I took the dog out, but I'm pretty sure the neighbors wouldn't be too happy if I got after them with my .243.

Thanks to all for the praise! It is fun when it all works out......... it was clear and cold here yesterday a good friend wanted to upgrade his scope, I had picked up a Minox for him in 3x9, for his Ruger 243 American, so we lined it up at a hundred yds ,as that is how Minoxs BDC calls for, then shot it at 2/3/4 hundred it came out spot on at 200 yds on first bar down , 2"low at 300 on 2nd bar down, and 7" low at 400. So not perfect but not bad....... after I finally figured out exactly where to hold that bar on a 400 yd milk
Jug, I could smoke em as fast as he could set em up! (No wind) the 70gr Varadeggons really made the red water fly! Lol.
Later on we loaded my new 90gr BlitzKings up. That is the sexyest looking bullet you can imagine it just looks"slippery" . My 700 Remmy seams to love them with 60gr of RL25, no preasure at all ........ I had one milk jug left that was frozen rock solid, set it out at 400 and smacked it with those 90gr Blitzkings......WoW talk about ice flying! There was pieces of red ice 20 ft on either side of the spot it was setting!!! And imho these Minox scopes they are dumping right now for $150 on Amazon, have to be the absolute best value for the dollar, I have ever seen in my lifetime, that Z3 tracked like a S&Bender............... razor sharp to the edges....... I am going to grab a few more before they are gone, as that is not the right money for those scopes........ he has a 30/06 with a Leupold VX 1 he thought was great. After yesterday when he saw what German scopes are like , he is dumping the Leupold and grabing another Minox.

Bret,
We are very blessed to live here, between two lovely
Lakes.......sunrises from New Brunswick into my bedroom, spectacular sunsets into Maine out of my living room.
I can pull our floatplane right up onto my lawn, 75 ft from
My front doors! Catch my supper anytime in 15mins on either lake, swim off my docks, and the English Setters run
Free here 24/7........ Best of all we can shoot coyotes out the upstairs bedroom! Lol. If its not Paradise its darn close
To it for a Sportsman! I have a sign in the kitchen reads,
If your lucky enough to live on the lake, then your lucky enough!
