I'm headed to Kansas at the end of December for whitetail and working up a load for the trip. Tested two different overall lengths and 3 charge weights. It's getting close....

Might try playing with seating depth on the 43.5gr load and see if I can tighten it up just a bit. Didn't bring my chrono but should be right around 2900fps.

Was a very nice day at the range with pretty much no wind and I had it all to myself!

I just received some Peterson 260 small rifle primer brass that I used for these loads and I am extremely impressed with it. Very high quality brass!

I should imagine that any of those loads will work for you. I'm also impressed with the Peterson brass. I'm kinda' envious of your hunt. Best of luck to you. Trust you'll connect with a great whitetail.

Fine looking groups. I had alot of success with a 260 several years ago. That peterson brass is good stuff. I have three boxes of the SRP 6.5 CM brass. All different lot numbers, and the fps spread between all three lot numbers is 4 fps. Also my first lot number has 18 firings on it, and still have not lost a piece to loose primer pockets

That looks fine!
Do the small primers have a big impact on pressure?

I just got some Peterson 260 brass but it is large primer pocket and I haven’t tried it yet.

I run into pressure quite a bit sooner than with hornady brass. I think it is because peterson is so much heavier, and has less capacity.

Looks like you are finding some magic there! Seems like you'll have a great WT load.

Got a few more loaded up with 43.5gr and pushed then back to 2.90" COAL. Hopefully we won't get as much snow as they are predicting and I can get out to test them.

I was bored and weighed each of the 10 loaded cartridges and found that there was an extreme spread of 1.5 grains between them. Not bad considering the uniformity of brass, primer, powder and bullet all coming together!

Love that photo, those look really good. When I ran the 129 gr ABLR it was very close to your load. It was 44 gr H 4350 and my gun allowed seating out to 3.00" but it shot best at 2.90". Would definitely run them again.
