260 rem or 6.5 Creedmoor

I can get a Creed no problem, but a 260.....................................

I had the model 12 in a 204 it was a laser but, I needed a wagon to carry it. I traded it and purchased a CZ 527 American shoot just as well & pounds lighter !
PS. The 260 Rem is likely the rifle that I will purchase for my grandson if he decides to take up hunting.

Blessings,
Dan

Why not buy a cheap Savage and then order a barrel for it in whatever caliber you want? I'd personally do a 6.5x47L. Build what you want rather than what someone else wants you to have. A Savage makes that easy to do.

The biggest thing to make sure of is that you are buying the Savage target action with whatever model you decide on (Only comes on a few models). I have a LRPV in .223 (7 twist, 28" barrel) that will shoot 3" groups at 600 yards with 80.5 grain bullets quite easily. There is a big difference between the accu-triggers on the target rifles and the standard Savage accu-trigger as well.

The .260 and the 6.5CM only come on the LRP, but I don't believe you are getting the target accu-trigger with this model. I'm not sure if it is the target action.

You could try this chambering in the LRPV and ring steel at 600 all day long:

Shucks, you may as well ream it out to the 260 Ackley Improved while you have it all apart! ha They tell me the 260AI will run right with the 6.5/284. Glad you got the good trigger you wanted! :)
