264's first range day

Thanks, Charlie. That rifle will be first to bat when I go to South Carolina this fall. Seems a great one for the somewhat longer shooting I may see (could go out to 400 and beyond, but most deer there are killed, like here, at under 200, many under 100).

If my Whelen is back and up and running in time, I figured this season here and in SC I'd hunt with either the Whelen or the 264. I just don't know if the Whelen will be back in time to get it ready to hunt. McMillan should have it now, or soon will, but I have no idea what kind of turn around they are able to provide.

I've seen you work successfully through some trying load ordeals. I have faith you can make this beauty sing in tune in no time. Keep us up to date on this one.

You have the rifle and a pretty good start on a load.

I finally got my .300 Win Mag shooting like your first load and called it good. It took me some effort to get there and I suspect you'll surpass that in no time flat. I'm impressed and, I'll admit, slightly jealous. I wish you the best in your load development. You have a great caliber.
