270 wsm bullet drop (POP)

My super shadow love's 58.5 gr of IMR 4350 with 140 GR accubonds, it will shoot 1" and under if i do my part. I sighted it in 3" high at 100yds. Can you give me an idea of how much it will drop at 300yrs. I haven't had a chance to shppt it over a 100 yrds yet.

You will need to know what your MV is to get the drops but you can use the ballistic calculator in the attached link to give you a rough idea.
Sometimes the charts are dead on, other times they may be off so you will need to confirm your drops at longer ranges.

Chronograph your loads. My hunting buddy has a .270 Winchester that shoots Weatherby velocities, showing no signs of pressure. Just the way the barrel was cut or buttoned, I guess. He is sighted in at 2.5 inches high at 100 yards and is (maybe) and inch to two inches low at 300 yards. It all depends on muzzle velocity though.

If I knew your exact velocity I could be more accurate. Since I do not have it I will have to run quickload to get an estimate. It is not gong to be dead on but........

If you have it sighted to be 3" high at 100 yds I`d bet on it being very close if not dead on at 300yds with a muzzle velocity of anywhere from 28-3200 fps. I believe you would be pretty close to having a 300yd sight-in with these velocities and the 140 gr BT.
Now where you are at with your mid range trajectory,........... :?

Thanks for all you're imput, I'll try some long range shooting as soon as i get a chance.

I'm hoping to go elk hunting next fall and I think i'' take this rifle because it shoots great and it is alot lighter than my other magnums.

will the 140 gr AccuBond work for elk or should I nove up to a 150 gr Partition?
