Hey guys! Was just out this weekend trying to build a load for my 270win. Tried Hybrid 100v with some decent results. Wondering if any has a pet load for 140 accubonds? Was considering H4831sc or RL19 or RL22. POP maybe you could run it for me? :grin: Thanks guys!

RL22 or h4831 would be a great choice. Let me see if I can rummage trhough some data when I get back from lunch.

I load for 2 - 270s. One a Sako and the other a Rem Mtn Rifle. Both of em love (to the tune of 1/2" groups) 140 Accubonds with 58 gns of H4831. Same as my 280.

57gr H4831sc. Very accurate, mild recoil load for the wife and kids at 2850 fps
59gr H4381SC when I load it up for myself right at 3000 fps.

Antelope I was considering H4831sc and will give it a try. The only thing im having a problem with is not being able to load close to the lands. With thmagazine in my browning abolt i can get about .040 off the lands. I can usually play with COL and get some good groups. What do you think?

In the .270 Win, I've always just loaded to magazine length, and had great results. Here are my distance's from the lans at magazine length:

H4831 and RL 22 are excellent powder choices for the 270 Win.

a full load of h4831sc and 140gr ABs give me 3012fps out of my 24" rem. 700. 1/2-3.4" groups at 100yds too.

However, almost daily I have shooters call or stop by the Pro Shop to discuss their experiences with the E-Tip. Everyone of them can not say enough good things about the performance and weight retention.
One guy brought by a .30 cal. 168 grain E-Tip fired into lava rock. Some pretty tough stuff. PERFECT mushroom, intact and hit the scale at 164 grains (97.6 %!!) retention. I have it on my desk and will measure it in the morning. It looks about the diameter of a nickel!
The E-Tip is a longer bullet and it is strongly urged to start low with your powder charge and work up slowly.
Had another guy stop by with a target shot with his .308 Win. A three shot group of just over 3" inches at 600 yards!
I will let you know the more I hear and see.

Jerry I have been considering the E Tip for my CA hunting bullet. I havent loaded anything for my 270 yet for CA. I mostly use it for out of state but if the etip does shoot like that then maybe Ill have one load for all. What grains do they offer in 270?

Hi Guys, I have been loading for the 270 win for over 35 years and I have still not tried any grain of bullet other than the 130.
If you look on most sites the 130gr. seems to be the pet for the 270 I know that bullets have really changed in the last few years and I recently changed from Partitions to the Accubonds. I have my CDL with a 24" tube shooting sub .5 moa @ 100 yards using the leadsled.
The load I use is 130gr AB on top of 53.5 grs of IMR 4350
